This series was peak edgy 2000s gaming and honestly as a kid the reason I bought a ps3. Why hasn’t Sony released any PC ports for this? I know it’s a dead franchise now but I remember it being popular at least in my circle when I was young.

I always bummed that your standard projectile in 2 was just a little ki blast instead of the lightning bolts in 1. you unlock the lightning bolts eventually IIRC but they're much slower

Porting PS3 games is more effort than it's worth when only 20 or so people will buy them.

That's because MGS4 is part of a big, well known franchise.
inFamous as a franchise lived and died in the span of about seven years, with the last game releasing over a decade ago.

I’ve heard this. It’s also a bitch to emulate ps3 games (and supposedly these games are even worse to emulate), which I can do with my PC but I want to do it on my handheld…..

Is it just me, or am I the only one who prefer the tone of the first game? I still loved both games, but something about one's serious atmosphere put it above two.

I was bummed out that the fire rate for the missiles was reduced. Being able to spam them at the sky and then shooting a regular lighting bolt at a target to cause the homing affect was devastatingly epic.

I played them a few years back via RPCS3 with a 3070.
They run fine, no crashes or anything. The biggest issue is that dust/smoke/particle effects are universally broken, and it's especially noticeable with smoke considering how much of it there is in the game.

is this worth playing outside of nostalgia? i always think about Crackdown when I see these games

One did have a better setting, the bayou shit was cool but the dark grungy city was great for a dark superhero game. My favorite thing was rail grinding on the subway tracks.

Haven’t tried on my PC it’ll probably run fine framerate wise, on my legion go the frames were a bit laggy (more so on the first game than the second which I thought was weird) but I kept getting weird artifacting.

The only thing that get me was his voice. I prefer Jason Cottle. His gruffed voice adds so much to Cole's character. I also agree about the AMP being his main melee weapon when they could've brought back the gigawatt blades.

It's one of the best super powered games of all time. If you only played it once as a teen, then I highly recommend you play it again to appreciate it.

They’re worth playing if you can handle them being a bit dated. Realistically they’re mostly fun because of the super powers. Story is kinda meh reads like a y2k graphic novel. The second one has a slightly better story and was actually received a bit better than the first.

I only got this when PSN got hacked back in the day and they were giving it out for free along with a few other games. I think it was this and Wipeout HD. Both were so fun man.

I prefer prototype's movement/combat/complete lack of anything resembling a morality system but infamous is a more well rounded game. Wish we had more of those types of game in general, but any superhero sandbox game made nowadays is bound to be based off some other intellectual property, and we can't have spiderman turning regular dudes into literal paste

I don't know I never really saw this game as great as some seem to think it was. Its a fun game and a fun playthrough but I don't see it as some sort of masterpiece I must go back to play.

It's kind of wild how one of the forefathers of the "binary good and evil choices that ultimately don't matter because the writers are hacks" trope is looked on so nostalgically these days. Infamous was always mediocre discount superhero slop, and no amount of falling from grace Sucker Punch has gone through should retroactively change that.

They're not the best games in the world. The engine was janky and the writing was kinda corny. Was fun to be electric man though. I used to make levels in the infamous 2 UGC. Now I'm a game designer.
