If you ignore AAA and go dig yourself, its pretty good.
Even if you like only old games it is pretty good because you can play ANY game from the past, not only what is in the rental store.
Even if it's a shit that only had 10.000 copies like live a live, you can play it.
You can play games that were just in japanese but are now translated.
You can play games but without the performance issues.
You can modify games on your own will.
You can even play CD-I games if you're that much of a sick fuck.

2025 has been a terrible year for launching games I give a shit about but it has been a great year for me setting up emulators and playing console games I missed out on
