Ubisoft
Ubisoft stock is plummeting towards new lows.
How would (you) save Ubisoft at this point?

I honestly don't think you can. Ubisoft's fanbase are spread out among too many franchises so they can't just close every studio but one and live off one game at a time. EA could've just shut down everything that wasn't FIFA and sustained itself.

They're have to do a full reversal but by now a lot of the disdain they're getting is from factors outside of their actual products. They've grown complacent with their franchises and refused to give their fans what they wanted and now they reap the benefits of being condescending and "knowing better".

Tencent has been the go-to for game devs that want to pimp their IPs to the highest shareholders. All of them are IPs with female protagonists without fail.

Anonymous No.724850484 [Report]

Shit, you’re right.
I was going to point out how doubling down on their race baiting and female protagonists was actually their ticket to success, since other companies leaning away means they’ll sweep the niche in the market. Naughty Dog would be their only competition here, what with that space game they’re making
I’ve already said too much, I just hope they’re not taking notes.

Too many cooks in the kitchen. I need to shed 90% of the weight but it couldn't be done because ubisoft got the bright idea of unionising everyone a few year ago. Also french law giving protection from mass layoff fucked it even further

Ubisoft already saved themselves by moving all their valuable IPs to a sub company partly owned by tencent. Now there's no reason for anyone to invest in ubisoft itself and they can go bankrupt.

Once a company starts lying about sales it's beyond over. One of the reasons why the share price is so low is many people know the figures are fictitous. It's fraud and illegal but law enforcement has collapsed so nothing will be done. They'll still go bust though.

New AC set in modern times. But here is the twist: they bring back Altair. They clone him and use the animus to rebuild his memory. I know it is generic af, but I'm trying to keep it ubisoftish so the board might not get scared. At least they could have some fun with middle ages guy being out of place in the future, they can do some power fantasy self insert shit to make it sell better, can make him and Desmond do buddy missions together and so on. I'm thinking something more like Arkham games. Hell, what if they could let you use old ACs save files? Literal whos don't sell as much as a self insert and thats the only face left for them to salvage (Desmond became code and there is too much Ezio fatigue).

It was obviously Star Wars Outlaws that was supposed to save them. After it bombed they went into the panic mode and delayed Yasuke's game. One can imagine how buggy it would have been if they really pushed it out in Christmas market.

Outlaws is a funnier easily missable bomb to me than Shadows.
They had years of seeing just how many people fucking hated NuWars since TLJ, and could easily have leaned into that. We know from Survivor that disney has limited creative control over the games, so barring a contract breaching level of disparagement they had free reign to target the points everyone hates about the ST.

All they had to do is drop the DEI and woke shit and focus on actual stories and gameplay.
Not to mention cutting down on the open-world BS, producing more AA content to get a short-term fix and then make an actual good AAA game.
This along with bringing back their older IPs like Rayman.

But it's too late. Way too late and I don't feel bad for them at all when Tencent will eventually take them over.

Shadow is literally their last chance.
They could just make shadow with naoe as protagonist and let everything works by itself, but they had to put that gorilla nigger that ended up shooting them in their own legs and here we are now

Looking at how most major entertainment corporations still act, it is obvious that a lot of execs and major investors are committed to either ride or die with DEI and they would indeed rather kill their business than course correct.

Easy, fire everyone useless, try to bring back old veterans who worked on AC 1 to 4
Plan 3 new Assassin's Creed games:
- one in Japan where you play as a (japanese) shinobi
- one in Berlin during the cold war where you play as a spy, maybe as a commie that would be fun to get their perspective for once
- Assassin's Creed: Rayman vs Raving Rabbids
Forget the dark soulsed RPG gameplay, go back to old school parkour and assassination.

Then I make a new pirate game based on a post I saw here years ago
>Imagine Black Flag with fantasy stuff like kraken and ghostships minus the assassin stuff and they slap the nemesis system from Shadow of War on top of it.
Cool pirate banter and battles.
Maybe add an online mode.

Then make a new Watch Dogs in my custom Cyberpunk setting.
Add anime girls and vtubers to Just Dance. I don't know if it's a good idea or if it would scare off normalfags.
I have other plans but I'll keep that's it for now.

People forget that the Larrybuck bribes weren’t just to shove in DEI shit into games, but to also hire people that espoused it. The intent was to make sure nobody could take the money and course correct later, but now it’s bitten them in the ass because the companies are filled with zealots that refuse to bend an inch, even to give even the slightest leeway to restore confidence.

What's the issue though? It's not like their actions are funding the business.
All that matters is that their sales cover their expenses. If they don't, then they can downsize and try and make profitable games.

This is what happens when you hire thousands of woke employees. I still remember those dumbasses going on strike even when the company was in crisis, kek. Supporting ‘wokeness’ as a company is basically asking to go bankrupt. And as a bonus, you’ll never make a good game with a bunch of activists and union drones on the payroll.

The disconcerting part in all this is that by the end of this whole dei shitshow, most asian companies or saudi companies will own a lot of older I.Ps. Idiotic western companies/corps are being tricked and bought out of their own market for shortterm investments. Corporations and zealots have unironically done incalculable damage to the gaming industry.
