its because for the remaster Volition used a new engine they were using for Saints Row 5 ( aka 2022 ) and outsourced the job to a small studio.

Shaundi was fucked up and changed by SR3 already, completely different than SR2 Shaundi. Might as well have gone all the way and changed her to hot instead of a plastic action figure with toy story 1 shading.

I think the Quake 1 and 2 remasters should be a golden standards of how to do them. Like just improve the graphics a little and add quality of life improvements plus some new content. I don't know why in most cases they insist on overhauling the graphics if they're not even going to put any effort into it.
