From aggro poopsock to dad gamer, it's large enough that you can find the whole spectrum. Either join a guild with regular raid times, or try your luck with pugs. When I played at the start of the year I didn't want to commit to a schedule due to work, so I joined pugs, which were usually pretty fun, but it's not like the mechanics are very difficult in the first raids. It's more a bout the setup and making sure people know what their job is.
You wont get around using discord though, since it's used for loot reserves and at least listening to shots being called during fights.
