I’m amazed how little anyone cared about this show towards the end. People say Game of Thrones went to shit, at least people wanted to see the ending.

No one wanted to see the ending because it actually was a launchpad for multiple spin-offs no one asked

because the general narrative was solid, and the characters and dialogue were good; the writers were just kind of bad at filling in some of the blanks. episodes 3 - 5 was when the game truly found its stride

Glad the series is finished. I really don't want to play with that annoying nigger kid anymore or a peg legged dyke Clem.

to this day I cannot fathom what the hell Bens problem was. That stupid fuck somehow managed to get three people killed in a single day.

>>724912810
I fucking hated that little nigglet so much. Five years old and talking like a grown adult and swinging a fireaxe well enough to amputate a leg? Fuck off Telltale. Even his parents were dogshit.

I honestly would not mind playing as Clem with a zombie killing prosthetic, make the story about her "getting back on the horse" and having to deal with external communities while expanding her own. As much as I hate those recent comics, exploring Clem outside of taking care of AJ wasn't that bad of an idea.

I’ve worked with neurotic retards exactly like Ben. Constantly fucking up, constantly apologizing, and constantly feeling bad for themselves over being a fuck up. You almost feel bad for them, until you realize they’re just afraid of being deservedly criticized.

He also was an outsider to a group that never really wanted him in the first place and already had internal tensions brewing, he never had a proper mentor because most of the group had their own problems to take care of.

Character writing carried it. Though that went out the window with season 2 and 400 days.

something to note is that ben was in the group for at most two weeks before he died
the last 3 episodes take place over the course of four days, with ep2 taking place roughly a week and a half before that

I’d be willing if it doesn’t involve Clem or any previous characters, set it in a different part of America and maybe add some lite base management mechanics and it could be cool.

My insane theory is that they are somehow gonna try to do a crossover with every major TWD comic character that's still alive and include Clementine finally meeting them, because in their mind that's what could draw the fans of different corners of the franchise to a new game.

It certainly helped that GoT didn't go head first into forced diversity. I remember being completely checked out of twd when I saw a fat bitch in a hijab.

No one gives fuck anymore. The S1 devs are long gone, every single one, it would be a new game in name only. They even admitted S3 and S4 flopped hard, who the hell would they even make a new game for?

If Skybound has enough money to make a juicy deal with AdHoc, I could see some hype be reignited and the thing with the later Telltale games is the they were popular but not profitable because everyone and their mother watched them on youtube instead of buying them, there's an audience for these games, they just need to figure out how to make them worth playing instead of being watched.

>because everyone and their mother watched them on youtube instead of buying them
I don't think that's the reason at all. It's just that their newer games sucked ass and their sales dropped at the same rate as the writing quality did. Their early games sold really well because of word of mouth, but I don't know anyone who even played OR watched S4 on youtube.

I will not, can not play a story based game like this where you play a mutt woman like Clem, Lee was alright because he was masculine and a chad, same with A New Frontier.
There is no way I am playing as a mutt woman with a little nigglet kid running around though, that is completely unrelatable.

They for sure lost a lot of goodwill with the quality of their late games, A New Frontier even made many tune out from the series, the Final Season being announced as the end of Clementine's story did catch some attention, not to the point that it was a commercial success because Telltale saturated their own market with their games so everyone had fatigue and knew better. For all it's worth, there are S4 playthroughs with millions of views, mostly from the top youtubers/streamers of the time and while the overall sentiment was nostalgia of how time passed since S1, ultimately, mostly everyone was interested in whether Clementine would die or not. This is more anecdote than anything but I wasn't even into the Walking Dead back then but I can recall the news of Clem living made some splash, mostly from youtube reactions.

It's Kirkman I think. He just has a very odd view of people in general. Like he as a person wants to understand emotion but doesn't. Interactions don't feel very genuine and it's all kind of just like a high school drama. The game has a lot of this BS too but lots of good moments too
Anonymous No.724933392 [Report] >>724934184
Why do the first 2 games feel so different compared to new frontier and the final season? It's kind of like the show as well, started feeling somewhat grounded and then just became ridiculous over time
Anonymous No.724933461 [Report]
Because the tv show and comic are shit so it wasn't hard to make something slightly better by distancing yourself from that shitty story.

A lot of the dialogue from the TV show feels like everyone is waiting to say their next big speech or quiet monologue that doesn't feel like an actual conversation, maybe it's less annoying in comic form but in person is weird

Maybe because of how further they are from the start of the apocalypse? S3 has the internal politics of a new faction that lives in a city and has you overthrow their government while S4 is more reserved, is still guerilla warfare against a group of raiders that ends with you bombing their ship. Compared to the first two that were smaller in scope, these escalated from survival into faction vs faction stuff.
