I got it this weekend on GOG sale. I can't get over the infantile writing and how absolutely disgusting and soulless the graphics are. I don't think I will be finishing it bros. Such a shame and wasted potential.

Imo Ron was outed as a hack writer like 15 years ago with Deathspank. That game was painfully unfunny and boring to play.

He always viewed Monkey Island as an analogue for what he was doing at the time.
So MI1 was about a young wannabe trying to prove himself. MI2 was about a guy who had just gotten a hit, desperate and unsure to follow up on his success.

So he made MI6 into a game about being past your prime, longing over past glorious.
So it's very nostalgic and overwrought and doesn't really care about it's own story.
