it's the same kind of person that can't play anything before the 360/ps3 era without getting in their EPIC retro achievements!
genuinely fucking tragic that unless there's a carrot to chase they'll avoid it
I have a private steam account and simply use it as a launcher for videogames
People who use steam like a social media platform, or use any of these "social media for gamers" websites like backloggd should commit suicide

Backloggery's new UI is fine, the problem is that unless you go out of your way to find other users you'll be completely alone. The landing page of the old design showed constant updates from everyone, now it's a walled garden. For posting reviews and journaling progress, Backloggd is better, but Backloggery clears it in every other way by just being lightweight and intuitive.

why not just use excel if you don't care about the social aspect? backloggd uses IGDB which heavily limits what kind of games will be available on the database aka it can never be a good database
With your own personal local shit you can use multiple sources like mobygames, wikipedia, VNDB etc to add whatever the fuck you want without any limitations or content guidelines

I like having the cover art accompanying each game, and having it sorted by my rating. Sure, I could do that myself, but it's convenient to have Backloggd do it automatically >backloggd uses IGDB which heavily limits what kind of games will be available on the database aka it can never be a good database
Idk I've never logged a game that wasn't in the IGDB. Its supposed limitations don't affect me

You need a website to remember what games you haven't beat? If you beat it just put it away from your other games if physical and if it's on steam steam or whatever put it in a finished group.

I'm not sure about Backloggd, but their more famous bigger sister, Letterboxd, isn't doing anything to improve, despite promises. It seems to have completely stagnated. Nothing new has been launched in years.
I don't know what is going on with those websites.
