Tsukihime Red Garden
Many seem to think that the creation of Satsuki's route is what's making things take a while, or perhaps even Kohaku's, since her's was rushed way back. But I have to wonder if it might have to do with Hisui's route instead.
It doesn't seem like it fits in well with the direction TsukiRe went. Shiki being trapped in bed for half or more of the route, wasn't necessarily so bad in an 8 (or less) hour route, but if it's around 20 hours, then it may be egregious. There's also the fact that besides the original Ciel, Hisui was the least popular of the 5 main heroines. Even the spinoff content seemed to have trouble doing much with her, whereas Kohaku had a lot of action. I wouldn't be surprised if they totally revamped her route, especially since the ending of her original route may not hit as hard as it once did. You could argue that the other routes will be revamped, but even the skeleton might be replaced, in Hisui's case.

I think they're setting up something with Hisui's route considering Saiki Gotou(the masked guy they added) was said to have a closer relationship with her than Kohaku. Chances are it's not going to have Shiki on bed with his schizo thoughts all the time.

So you think it’ll be split into two parts? I just assumed the routes would all be a bit shorter so things would even out, but in suppose your idea also makes sense. Unless you think they’re gonna outright cut routes, or merge them, like Hisui/Kohaku and Akiha/Satsuki

I have no idea what those maniacs will do. He might've made it a 3-parter if the first one sold better, but now? Nasu might just merge Hisui/Kohaku into one and abandon Satsuki again. The most likely answer is the game's never coming out.

Read through the manga recently, I liked Kohaku’s outfit when she was supporting Akiha, don’t remember that from the VN. I still feel Kohaku’s character is incomplete. Even though it’s a work of fiction, Kohaku completely faking all of her emotions doesn’t seem right. She may have been masking to a point, but to be completely empty is a different thing entirely.

My guess is that whatever's going on with Saiki's gonna be resolved in the Hisui route. In the Akiha route, the final boss is Shiki. In the Kohaku route, the final boss is Akiha. Saiki seems to have some history with Kohaku, but I doubt it'll get resolved there. The issue with Kohaku is that all the mysteries surrounding her get resolved in the Hisui route. The mystery of Kohaku is half the point of that route. On the other hand, the Kohaku route is sort of meant to tie up a few loose ends. Since Kohaku's mysteries are the core of the Hisui route, we will probably find out exactly what Saiki's relationship with her is and end up dealing with him accordingly. Italics-kun is a non-issue in that route. He's a problem, to be sure, but since his showdown with Shiki happens in the Akiha route already, there's not much point in having another one in the Hisui route. Indeed, once his purpose is concluded, Shiki kills him incredibly easily without any wasted time. So I think the true climactic fight of that route will involve Saiki. I don't know how strong Saiki is, but given his history with the Tohno Clan, the Nanaya Clan and Kohaku, it narratively makes sense that his story is resolved in that route.
The real question is what's the deal with Mio. If you consider the layout of the three routes, I don't really see her having much of a role in any of them.

She isn't completely empty. That's the entire point of the turning point in the Hisui route. Despite everything, deep down, she does care for Akiha. There's something there. So no, she's not totally empty. She just thinks she is.

I guess the question is really whether or not the cheerfulness was totally fake or not. I double checked Hisui's ending, and it does seem very evident she cared for Akiha, and was just mentally damaged.

The cheerfulness was probably fake. Kohaku's smile generally wasn't genuine in previous routes. Her mouth was smiling, but her eyes never changed.

i have a lot of respect for hisui's route mostly taking place in the same room and being a non-action story. it being changed significantly would be fucking whack. honestly my biggest fears for red garden is making hisui's route more actiony and kohaku being whitewashed.

I think the length of time Shiki's in bed won't be altered too much. The thing is everything else will probably be expanded so the ratio in terms of how much of the route he spends in bed will decrease.

There's a handful of new mysteries that need to be resolved and he can't do that in bed. It's impossible to figure out what Saiki's deal is if he never leaves his room. There are no clues in there.

I think we're getting it for all for sure, but Nasu may not make every route so long as the near side routes. It's that, or now that he won't be busy with FGO, he can actually focus on writing Red Garden.

Same scene, Hisui uses Nee-san. You can argue it's ambiguous, but there was that one scene, I think it was in Plus Disc? Where it's explicitly stated that 'my sister' is Kohaku speaking, and 'Nee-san' is when Hisui speaks. So the usage of the dead-eye sprite likely doesn't mean anything except for comedy purposes.

I don't mind the lack of sex scenes. Because fanartists are way better at it than Takeuchi or Nasu. Nasu's sex scenes don't really get me off.
Do we know the actual circumstances behind Makihisa taking in Hisui/Kohaku? I mean, we know why he did, I just don’t remember there being mention of how it came to be. If I had to guess, the Nanaya killed their family? Or maybe it was the Tohno family itself, I’d forgotten they’re sort of in control of their whole area.

The Nanaya have no reason to kill them. Hisui and Kohaku are from a branch family of the Fujou clan, the same clan that Kirie from KnK descended from. In the original lore, Hisui and Kohaku's mother broke some sort of taboo, which ruined the branch family and left them in disgrace. The twins had nowhere to go after that, and to their misfortune, they were picked up by Makihisa.
