Great hardware, top notch backwards compatibility and loads of potential - all destroyed by overpriced proprietary storage and an appalling library that Sony stopped caring for about a year into its release. The games library was shit and I do not care what the turbo weeb coomers have to say.
Actually good Vita games:
>Tearaway (still best on handheld)
>Wipeout 2048
>Persona 4 Golden (ported to everything now)
>Gravity Rush (better on PS4)
>Lumines ES (hardly groundbreaking though)
The HD ports of PS2 games run like fucking shit and can't even maintain 30fps most of the time. Don't get me started on trying to play Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1+2 at 30fps either. If a game released on Vita and PS3, you can bet the Vita version is total garbage.
Killzone Mercenary and Uncharted Golden Abyss are notable mentions but playing shooters on a small handheld at 30fps with mini thumbsticks is a miserable experience in 2025.

It's not too far behind 3DS imo, I owned one back in the day and I never really ran out of games to play
