The fact is that pyro does have non-silly cosmetics and that it's very possible to make themed sets out of them, even if they don't fit your preferences. Pyro's entire character is about being crazy anyway, not cool. Don't get me wrong though, I don't really like its stupid cosmetics either (e.g. shit like the bird cage or the toilet sucker thing)
