Exposure therapy is the only fix anon, I get anxious too when I have to go outside, but if you try and treat it like it's not a big deal maybe you can make it happen without over thinking it.
Just remember that none of it is a big deal, nothing happening is important and it's not your only chance, you can create new chances.
Sometimes it is as easy as saying plainly "Hello, I'm here to join a group or find some friends"
Like seriously, would you ACTUALLY rather die than mildly inconvenience someone? Life is an inconvenience, we have to be a little selfish in small ways sometimes.
Sure people can be too polite sometimes and you MIGHT secretly be a burden, but they'll fuckin get over it, or will get used to you to the point that your company becomes a positive.
Most people will make it pretty obvious if they don't want you around, at least eventually.
