mostly fine but kind of bad. might have gotten someone fired. i wanted them gone sooner, but a retarded manager wanted to keep them on (because they were a cheaper alternative to myself and because the retarded manager's own ego and reputation was being partially rested on this person working out). the person didn't work out, was absolutely terrible at the job and fucked things up constantly, but that person quit their other job a month in to make more availability for this one. and now they are out both. this person wouldn't have been as fucked over if the retarded manager just listened to me to begin with instead of making it a personal issue. i didn't like the person but i feel bad that they are now out two jobs because a manager's ego was attached to their success in a position they were incapable of doing.

Hades II. I really like the game but have a few complaints

not really. THe problem is that my parents are just becoming old, annoying and quite lazy. It's AA Japanese sexploitation action gaming at its peak. It's not as in-depth as Ninja Gaiden but the coomer stuff while prevalent isn't so intrusive that it distracts from actual gameplay and there is a decent amount of that here. It's like Bayonetta but with zombies and vampires rather than angels. It's on sale now, down form the typical $60 (which is WAYYY too much) to about $14 which is more reasonable considering the AA nature of the game. See if you can pirate it and see if you like it. I'll add that the previous game Oneechanbara Z2 is also on sale at a going rate of $10 if you like what you see. I played it a little and thought it was neat, but I want to go through the games in chronological order.

i work in an upscale restaurant. job is easy for me because i've done it for so long and it pays well enough. really should do something else with my life, but this is comfortable and my entire social life is tied up with many of these people as well. it is easy for me, but not for a newcomer, especially someone who is not used to the volume we do at the level we do. my job also involves managing the egos and neuroses of everyone around me, something that this other person could not do. the job also has a very physical aspect and the person was truly incapable on that front. they had two jobs because a lot of people in the service industry work multiple jobs, but this one was apparently worth it to that person to quit their other one to free up the time to always be available.

no, the underperforming was still happening even after the other job was quit. the person is just incompetent, unwilling to learn, and in some regards physically incapable. not a team player, horrible interpersonal skills (and the job requires being a diplomat). myself and others told management they were a bad fit on the second day but wouldn't listen because they thought we were just responding this way for having our jobs being threatened by a possible replacement. management learned over a couple months that we were right, but there were still egos and pride tied up in this person's success despite everyone knowing it won't work.

Doom 2 with mods. A quarter of the way through Going Down with Hardcore mode Corruption Cards and the Dakka weapon mod and it's getting very difficult. Cool. I'll say the OG PS2 games are a bit rough around the edges since it's one of Tamsofts first games (and it shows) compared to the remakes but still fun PS2 jank. Either way, if you like Bayonetta and DMC, then you'll see a lot of that character action DNA in the Oneechanbara action games. It's a lot simpler and can devolve into button mashing, but it's still very fun nonetheless. I'm 2 hours in but I'm having a blast.

Back in 2010 I loved the first one, and it still holds up for me. I hated Apollo Justice, and Investigations was closer to the first Ace Attorney game in terms of more "normal" characters, vs everybody in Apollo Justice behaving and dressing like it was a nickelodeon cartoon. Kind of a return to form, at least for me. The second one... I won't be playing it. I had very bad memories of the fantranslation in 2023, and while the first will take 30-35 hours to finish, that one is more than 50 hours of pain and clowns

It's just low level processing of human language. Brain areas involved, reaction times depending on ambiguity of expressions, gender inferring for languages that are not gendered, speech disorders, tons of Chomsky. An extremely boring mandatory subject, and extremely theoretical. Sometimes it's closer to AI chatbot theory

It's no wonder that a ton of people will drop the psychology degree before getting to half of it. They all come thinking about therapy and Freud and most of it just maths, biology and lots of rats (thankfull I love rats).

Kind of burnt out really, been gravitating towards slow paced replays for the past few months. My commute was fine until september. The stupid thing is that the actual time the train moves is 20 fucking minutes, but they have reduced the frequencies due to the catenary burning down in one of the lines, and construction work on the other line to adapt the tracks for new trains. So I may end having to wait 20 minutes for a train, travel 5 minutes, be stuck in a hub station waiting up to 30 minutes for the second train, travel 15 minutes, then walk 5 min to home. It used to be like 5-15-5-5 from home to work and back, but it's so bad now that I have been able to finish entire games on the Steam Deck.
And I am the fucking idiot that can't work from home because I need direct access to the network to do my job, so I can't take the easy route. It fucking sucks.

I honestly don't know like I'm happy and content with how things are at the moment but also... I AM SO DAMN TIRED. Ever since I graduated from uni and got myself a physically-intensive job where I work the graveyard shift, I've been nothing short of exhausted. Every day I wake up just to take care of things while stressing out about what needs to be done the next day without saving any time for myself and day-by-day I can see how this is taking toll on my health. I'm hoping that reserving some time during the day after work as "me time" will give me that period of relaxation that I need to get myself back to who I was before.
