I HATE FIXED CAMERA ANGLES
Zoomer here. Trying to play older games like Silent Hill 3 or Resident Evils and fixed camera angles are AWFUL. It feels like you barely control your character, extremely frustrating. Third person mods are sadly not that good, it's crazy third person view was invented this late into video games.

Tank controls, retard. Use them
Tank controls are memed as an iq filter but I think the explanation has some merit. I had a retarded friend who couldn't play RE no matter how much he tried, me and other kids nailed it down in like 30 min in front of him despite not having playstations.

When I was like 4 or 5 a tank control isometric helicopter game filtered the fuk out of me, one of my earliest gayming memories. Anyway, tank controls and fixed camera are better, visually and movement wise

X'er here, and this is the first time that I've agreed with a cretinous zoomer -- CCTV / tank controls are shit, and TPS is the only way to play s/h games.

Fixed camera angles aren't as bad as tank controls.
And all because of shitty controllers without 2 analog sticks being the norm.

The old RE games were always trash. Combat was shit, exploration was annoying, it wasn't scary and the plots were retarded. Silent Hill complete mogged them and there is a reason why RE4 moved to action instead.

Also a zoomer here, the originals are great and they are worth learning. Just take your time to click with it, and if you really can't? Capcom will probably RE1 again anyway in the style 2R.
t. 26 yr old zoomer currently replaying RE2 (1998) once again

What a weird thing to say, given that third person has been around just as long. Or were you somehow under the impression that it was invented later as a solution to fixed camera 3D? Have you never heard of Super Mario 64? There are earlier examples still. I'm not going to shit on you for not knowing everything due to your age but there's no reason you can't try to exercise some common sense.

Zoomers will never understand the original RE games
>fixed camera angles
Introduces the element of surprise. In a modern game, you can peek around corners and see everything before engaging. In the original RE games, you don't know what is around the corner until you actually walk around the corner. There could be a saferoom. There could be a zombie. There could be a group of zombies. There could be a new type of zombie you haven't seen. There could be a boss. It creates a sense of tension you can't get without fixed camera angles.
>tank controls
Makes movement and combat difficult to increase the sense of tension. It is SUPPOSED to be difficult. What's more stressful? Fighting a boss with tank controls or fighting a boss with DMCV style movement and combos? You are supposed to feel like you are being put up against an a monster at a disadvantage.
This is also why saves, ammo, and healing items are limited.
These games do horror better than just about any modern game

Different zoomer here. Recently played the original Resident Evil for the first time and got used to fixed camera angles and tank controls after about ten minutes. You are weak.

I was born in 02 and played the games just fine (in fact I prefer the old Resident Evil 2 and 3 games to the remakes). Just adapt to the gameplay.
