They're not paying shit, that's not how stocks work. The stock price will recover sooner rather than later and it'll be like nothing ever happened.

Based honestly.
I've stopped buying games at launch because for most of them 1.0 is just the start of early access because of how busted these games are. One has to give a game like a year for it to be in a state where it's worth playing.

>they're paying $17m per day!!
I hate this retarded misrepresentation of how the stock market works. Rockstar isn't paying anything extra for the delay beyond the operational costs they're paying already. All that's happening is the sale date (when they start making money on the game instead of just spending it on dev) is getting pushed back.

>>725290948
QRD? If the game is truly failing cert, it means it has to be literally console-killing/unplayable, because if your IP is big enough, cert becomes more 'suggestions' than requirements. (Just look at CP2077 on PS4/XB1.)

And for a game of GTAVI's size, 6mo isn't much. If I had to guess, it's bug fixes and maybe in-place swaps/changes to existing content that doesn't require a lot of testing to check.

On GTAVI specifically? You work at MS or Sony? Otherwise, how would you know?

>Sony has a zero tolerance since CP2077
I'm sure they lost cash on transaction fees after doing refunds for that first month. It was Sony' fault, too, since they undoubtedly gave CDPR all sorts of cert exceptions when it was clear they shouldn't have.

>>725293392
Say what you will about the people who got sacked, but Rockstar firing these people for bullshit reasons was some of the most transparent union busting a company could do. I hope the UK union sues the shit out of them just to punish Rockstar corporate for their stupidity.

They are people that have totally bought into the grift in hopes of leeching off of it themselves. Actually, decade long development times and multibillion dollar budgets are good! Why are they good? Well because the stock goes up. What if it underperforms? That can never happen, because look at how much time and money they spent.

sony gave free passes with a guarantee a day one patch would actually pass certification since 99% of the time it was true, but they stopped because of cyberpunk.

Well yeah. People are buying into the stock with the assumption that they'll see a return on it earlier.
If not, they're going to invest into something else that will.
They're all going to buy into the stock again when the release window nears.
It's not like all that lost value just disappeared into thin air.

I'd do the same thing in Sony's position with GTAVI. The game is going to be the biggest release since CP2077, so if the day 1 experience is a buggy mess, Sony's customer service team is the one who takes it in the ass when people have complaints, refund requests, and whatever else.

Pokemon is old and fragile to the point of Nintendo having to go scorched earth with lawsuits and blatant patent abuses to try to hold down a major competitor. The franchise also has fatigue and is almost 30 years old at this point.
Anonymous No.725297851 [Report]
>>725290790 (OP)
No, the game got delayed because it's not finished, because of shitty managment (like every AAA gave dev) and recently busting unions at the cost of ousting some actual devs who were important.

It actually isn't. Rockstar pulled in 3 times the amount of pokemon in 2024. 2 vs 6 billion, thats not releasing a mainline game in 6 years, haven't even done a remaster in 3.

Market cap doesn't get "destroyed". It's a theoretical evaluation. They'll recover it and then some if GTA VI launches in a good state. If they didn't delay it and GTA VI launched incredibly unpolished, their market cap wouldn't grow as much.

Either way, when GTA VI launches, it's going to massively bump their stock prices unless it's complete dogshit.

Exactly. Pokemon is the biggest case of The Emperor's New Clothes in the realm of gaming. Yokai Watch already (albeit briefly) scared the hell out of them too, remember (hence them starting to crib ideas and even its art/comedy style for the anime), but Palworld is a whole new level threat because it actually sold like hotcakes, embarrasses modern Pokemon games' quality despite being half the price (even less now with the Switch 2's game prices), and has Sony handling their merchandising now.

If their protectionist lawsuit and patent-trolling don't go their way, be prepared for a ton of bigger devs to start making games that are basically public declarations of "look, the Emperor has no clothes!". I don't think most people realize just how hard Nintendo in general is currently coasting on the assumption of never having competition again.

There's already cracks in that facade with those other rulings against them. Palworld succeeding, and escaping their abuse, would be doubly dangerous since it's more 'edgy' than Pokemon's sanitary family friendly bullshit and would attract a larger audience.

>Nintendo has no clothes
I've long been of the opinion that they've been living on borrowed time since all they do is sell their devoted fanslaves the same four franchises over and over again. Mario, the character, is almost forty years old at this point; it's just like how Darth Vader is going to be 50 in 2027. Their franchises are just these tired, well-trod fields that have been plowed to death.

My guess is MSRP of $90 for the basic bitch console versions at launch with some kind of $150+ collector's edition with day 1 extra vehicles and shit.

The big determinant for pricing will be whether GTA Online ships on launch day, or if it's just the single player mode. Because if GTAO is there from day one, expect a shitload of MTX stuff, probably a new premium currency or two, and other really scummy RDR2-style shit.
