i got it for free with my graphics card and loved it, i bought all the DLC which i recommend because some of the character customization is locked behind it which is needed for tackling the highest difficulty. i'm not really a fan of Xcom but something about this just clicked with me, i think because it has party members and not disposable generic grunts that you never really grow attached to. once you learn all the ins and outs of the combat system it's really fun, you can clear missions in a single turn if you have powerful characters and good RNG.

i'm not really a Marvel guy and i found the interpretations of the characters could be a little YA-Whedonish for my tastes but for the most part i enjoyed it, being able to explore more of or define Hunter's character was the main draw for me.

you can change the game's difficulty at any time, which you're supposed to do. enemies scale in health but you get stronger cards which quickly outscales the HP they get. then you bump up the difficulty which gives you greater rewards until you struggle, and then you level up and get stronger cards, etc

It's not that similar to X-com, it's pretty easy. I was very disappointed as a marvel fan, the story is complete dogshit, the conflict feels so low-stakes. Blade and fucking Morbius get over their shit in seconds, it's so summer camp. They're doing occult marvel, gimme a little edge, for god's sake.

The card-system for battles are fun enough, but the story felt like a hamstringed PG-13 MCU movie and felt bleh
tldr: Not a bad game, but unless you're a hardcore Marvel fan, buy it with gameplay in mind

Gameplay is fun, but I am one who enjoys the more puzzle like tactics games. Look up a gameplay video and if you like it then dive in.

The writing is very young-adult, but is not as juvenile as the Whedon movies (still has a lot of quips, I think it could have used with a couple more serious characters the balance the roster). Characters take more inspiration from their comic adaptations than the movies. Lots of references to old comics, so if you're a Marvel fan you'll find things to like.

The social aspect is pretty lame and your character moves and acts as if it was supposed to be female by default and they added the male option later but I really enjoyed the combat, my only complaint on that front is that there are very few bosses and they repeat a lot but at least they have gimmicks that make them pretty distinct from each other

Yes it is. It has fun gameplay and a good story. The optional social bit and exploring after missions is hit and miss dpeneding on whether you like the characters.

got it free with PS+ awhile back. I guess it's too easy for a turn based strategy rpg. It's very basic and you can only have a small handful of characters out at once. It's kinda garbage compared to stuff like final fantasy tactics.

It's very good. The Persona aspects are kinda half baked since you can't stick your dick in Spiderman but the combat is fantastic. If you can't stand capeshit story feel free skip dialog freely but the funky combat's well worth putting up with it

You can hang out with them and they'll become your friend. It's a mildly entertaining deckbuilder otherwise. Some stuff is kind of slow(moving around the hub) but they put money into voice acting and shit.
