I'm only just now getting into the Trails series, starting with the original three games on PC. I only just finished 3rd, but part of me wants to jump right back into the remake of the first game. I think I'm going to hold off on that for now, move on to Zero and Azure. But I can't wait to play this because I know I'll love it.

Nta, it hasn't been officially announced, but Falcom churns these games out really quickly, and the second game will reuse a lot of the assets from the first game, so a lot of the work is done already. So I highly doubt it will take a long time to release the second one.

From a remake perspective yes but not from games overall and it would take a lot more for that to happen. The most important thing is that Falcom doesn't have the capacity to do original writing this good anymore, you can compare to their other release and see how abysmal it is compared to this game.

This is my first Trails, and I’m on chapter 2 with over 30 hours clocked in. I talk to every NPC when they refresh and do all the side quests. Is this gonna take over 100 hours?

there's only 4 chapters and the final one is the longest, probably 70 hours minimum if you're listening to the voiced dialogue and not just skippa skippaing.

It's woke slop and influenced by Blackrock, inferior to the original in ever way. Translation is unsalvageable.

i mean how many goalposts are there gonna be, was i supposed to have 120 hrs or something? did first playthrough on nightmare and ng+ on very easy + high speed mode + skip all events. Just in case it'll piss you off even more I'll say it was my technically first trails game (I only played cold steel on vita when that one came out); suffice to say, there are plenty of jrpgs better than sky and it originally coming out in 2004 is no excuse, because FF6 came out 10 years before that.

I've never played Blue Archive, but /v/ aggressively took it as some sort of baseline for flops, so I'd say the comparison is fair. Adding both release numbers and the demo wasn't enough to put this remake on top. But I have never seen a budget RPG with so much DLC.
