>boot UP a metroidvania, shmup, roguelite, musou, or any other genre of game that requires me to mash the attack button over 3 times per second NONSTOP
>go into my gamepad's settings and enable turbo

Didn't PC-Engine controllers come standard with turbo functionality, and that's like THE shmup console?

if you ever decide to get a gameSAAR controller, theres a dedicated button to enable/disable the turbo mode.

With flydigi there's no dedicated button for that but I can create a profile called turbo and non-turbo and switch between them with back paddles or Select + X/B/A/Y combination

someone shows up to your fighting game meet with this mf, wyd
Does turbo spam a button press to always be at the earliest possible timing? Starting to genuinely wonder if you could use turbo to do links so that you could essentially long-press any such input, and how a game like that would play.

The only game in recent memory where I have ever felt that auto fire was actually mandatory was PN03, at least before you get autofire suits. Absolute RSI-bait it was.
