CRTs became poorfag tier the moment flat screen televisions became affordable 20 years ago.
You can also hook up and emulate using a real CRT if you wanted to btw.

a quality crt shader on a good 1440p-4k (preferably oled too) monitor does pretty well alongside the real deal.
my pvm is really good and I find any excuse I can to use it BUT the difference in quality between it and the shader (on a good display) is negligible enough that if I didn't already have one sitting around I wouldn't bother buying one.
that's not even mentioning the sheer weight/sizes of some of the models you can get let alone the insane prices nowadays
