Stray Children
Just beat the game and felt like making a thread.

If you're into Love-de-Lic games, it's worth the frustrating period where you're getting in tune with what the game expects of you. Definitely a lot of great moments through out, and the ending is pretty close to a 10/10. If nothing else, everyone should play the game for the QTE to suck delicious rich bitty straight from the cow's teet.

Retard, who the fuck would pay me to shill this fucking game? Do you use your brain at all, or does it just exist to cause you to respond to certain triggers like a trained ape?

I need to know what the fuck was going on with the fucking Chicken during the ending. Seriously, why did she end up being the final boss? As a twist it did make me chuckle, but it came out of nowhere.

I had a lot of fun with the game. In particular the lilypad scene put a big smile on my face and reminded me of the idol girl's song from Moon. The overarching theme of embracing life despite its difficulties fits in well with Moon without feeling like a retread. The gameplay too is very different from Moon but still retains that classic Love-de-Lic feel. Usually these followups to older games lose the essence of the original, but even over 25 years later they've still got it.

I think my favorite random scene in the game was in the Sleep Kingdom with the three white mushroom kids, you probably know the one, since it caught me off guard after being treated like shit by everyone the whole game.

Throughout the game she gives hints pushing you to the door of the end, which as you find out just keeps you in the infinite loop. She seems like one manifestation of the 'Something' which prevents everyone from accepting reality and moving on.

I like seeing people get filtered by this game.

Tell that to the shitty capeshit western WEG threads first faggot. Literally a general filled with actual astroturfed shills and you're taking it out on a pure Japanese game made by japs, kill yourself.

That does make sense. I wanted there to be a bit more explanation on her motivations, but the whole point about the Something is that it's deliberately ambiguous since it's a stand-in for a lot of different things. I doubt there'd have been a great way to condense that into a character motivation.

Is it an actual rpg or is this a game that punishes you for wanting to play an rpg?

Those threads get activity because it’s what people are interested in. Don’t like it, but they’re natural and organic. Meanwhile i’ve never heard of this and this first place it’s mentioned is on here of all places. Why? Because some marketer was told to make a thread
The reason why no one’s talked about it is because no one cares, so when a thread does exist in spite of that, what other reason would it if not for shilling

You can play it as an RPG and kill every enemy, but it's definitely not the intended way to play and is more of a back-up for when you can't figure out how to spare a particular enemy. So you're pushed into talk-no-justuing them into being spared. As far as I can tell you're never made to feel bad for killing any enemies, though, you just miss out on dialogue in the moment and in one area near the end. I have no clue what that end game area is like if you kill everything.

The enemies you fight are mostly sympathetic characters if you spend the time to talk to them. It's not a standard rpg where you grind monsters and level up, but you do find equipment/gain stats/explore like a typical jrpg.
