This but unironically, and I'm mainly thinking about the original Miyazaki triology being >DeS-DaS1-Bloodborne

There isn’t but this also made me realize that in the larger scheme of things, gaming has no Tolkien equivalent. There hasn’t been anyone whos managed to create a world with so much lore, languages, characters, believable mythology and structure that has completely redefined fantasy and other genres. Nobody can top this guy in any field which is crazy, because The Hobbit is a book from the 1930s and LOTR the 1950s.

Unironically World of Warcraft. It's the only game where you really like someone going on a real adventure. Every other RPG just feels like you're a character in a prewritten linear story.

There is none, and there will never be.
Videogames are not art, nor should they strive to be.They are toys, and thats fine.

The 1st one precisely.
>Big trek across the world with long stretches of just walking around looking at the scenery
>Weird optional paths and monsters
>Can sneak past a lot of difficult encounters
>Always at a disadvantage
>Enemies are ugly and noisy

Wish that game was a singleplayer where I didn't have to grind. I tried to get into it but it didn't age well. What the devs did with the map and visuals is very impressive though.
