A lot of sheltered middle class adults have never worked a real job, and these games are a little window into the life of a wagie they get to giggle at

Humans enjoy pursuing goals, what they hate is physical exhaustion and mental pressure. So even tasks that are boring and displeasurable in real life have potential to turn into entertainment in video games.
the worst was paying like $1000+ for VR and being told "job simulator" is a good game and buying it and it's literally just doing a job while standing up like an idiot with stupid jokes thrown in

you get to experience a job without buck breacking your bank account having to either build the place up, meeting the distributors, setting up shop every morning, rude customers, dangers of the job, etc, etc...
it's weird how popular truck simulators are
why not just drive a truck
they should have uber for driving trucks where people just show up and get a truck to drive somewhere part time

I used to manage a grocery store for about 10 years before I finally started my own business. I miss it sometimes and find it nostalgic. Wish they were higher quality with better customer AI.

Because the real thing is more hard, you have to learn how to shift between 30 gears based on the slope and road and shit. With a video game you don't get into real accidents or have to worry about cargo. And you can play it anytime as opposed to the scheduling truck drivers are tasked to do.
Before my GamePass expired I was like fuck it let’s see how fun fixing roads can be. Worst driving I’ve experienced in a game in sometime oof, awful menus and not much positive to say lol. Not even Let’s Game It Out could find joy here

This
There are a lot of IRL factors not taken into account that make the task more complex and why people pay an specialist to do it..
All the simulators simplify everything to click here 10 times and trick the brain into thinking you were being productive.

OH
MYGOD
ironically a lot of simulators don't even have a good career mode / job simulation so it's kinda boring because there's no reason to do anything
I want to larp as being a real pro
