I dont think it needs to be "saved". It will always have a core group of players who ERP/RP and sub regardless of the current content.

It's not a question of if XIV can be saved, but if SE are willing to save it. As far as they are concerned, it's doing just fine. the players claim the combat is stagnating, the content is too niche and too sparse, the story is shit, and so on, but if money looks good then that's too bad because that's all that matters.

I played this game for 100 hours and most of it was talking to people with quest markers over their head. I liked the dungeons that's what the whole game should have been.

Yoshi-P is a liar or even worse, a dumb retard who doesn't look at any feedback outside of Japan, probably a liar. Either way the netcode has not been fixed for 10+ years now, and it never will be. This should tell you enough about any hopes of the game being saved.

The problem is the overall story to FFXIV is DONE. The main 10year+ storyline is complete, all the dark mysteries of behind the world building is exposed, the evil harpy lol-robot girl representing all the sadness and misery in the universe is defeated and now everything is just filler.

Dawntrail has proven they've painted themselves into a corner with the storytelling, and all they can do pile on extra story to the story we already know.

There is simply no more surprises left in the game, except pander to the alphabet people doing alphabet things

Yes, it means. If every job has to play the same, there's no space for things like debuffs, different types of buffs, different types of magical/physical/elemental damage, etc.

Every job has to be a DPS that deals a neutral type of damage that functions the same against all types of enemies. Also every job can only have 1 type of buff which is increasing damage %. Even the cooldonws, casting time and GCD speed of every job has to be samey.

There is no space for anything different or interesting, everything has to be the same bland universal thing that fits and performs the same regardless of party composition or enemy encounter.

The problem seems to arise that this is a rotation-based MMO where the importance is placed on that rotation and how each job "feels" compared to one another much moreso than whether their actual capabilities differ, and to that end jobs are distilled more to their playstyles within their given role-- "Melee DPS", "Casting DPS", etc-- and one or two key abilities like Verraise or Fire 4 rather than defining themselves by those key abilities exclusively

Additionally there's the problem that more "out there" buffs and debuffs and damage typings wouldn't serve any notable purpose in the game's general mold. I think what people are actually asking for is for gameplay to not revolve around EX trials and Savage so much

The only one I know of is the original paid one, MMOMinion. Dunno about the Dalamud ones that do that, actually maybe I do.
I used TextAdvance to speed through an alt character one time, and I recall it having connectivity to vnavmesh but never figured that out.

I play every job, and the only ones that play the same are all jobs within the tank role. Their buttons are way too uniform. DPSs, even within the same category don't really play alike. A Dragoon main can't just hop into Monk, a Summoner main can't just hop into Black Mage, etc etc. You might be able to make a case that all healers are similar, but there's enough difference in their healing and offensive kits that they feel distinct.

If you play one job for each role, this isn't a problem. Nor is it a problem if you main different flavors of DPS. Tank mains are the ones really feeling this issue, with each job having the same 4 core mits, 3 button combo with a couple of oGCDs thrown in.

IMO Endwalker should have been two expansions. There was enough content to flesh out in two expansions. Instead they rushed through the Empire shit and then killed Zodiark so early, then rushing through the end of the world. I would have made one Expansion on the Empire and then end up in the Moon by killing Zodiark. Then another expansion about the End of the World with the patch MSQ being the preamble to the end. It felt like they rushed the ending on purpose because the writer that also worked on Shadowbringers was being promoted or something.

So in my perfect world I would have had the expansion after Shadowbringers be about the final War against Garlean Empire and killing going to the moon to stop Zodiark from being released. You beat him then shit start to hit the fan on the Source. The End of tbe World is coming back and then everything is answered.

More like Garlemald was supposed to be its own, but the success of shadowbringers had them continue that storyline sooner instead of taking a break to resolve Garlemald in its own expansion. Honestly to its detriment in my opinion, even though I did love EW. Garlemald got utterly shafted because of it.
But I guess if they did do Garlemald expac, then Hiroi would have been writing Endwalker and none of it would have landed at all.
