I never got to play world of warcraft because im a zoomer.
I watched asmongold play it, his old videos, looks so fucking fun.
I'm neet currently in a kind of similar situation to how he had it back then, im desperate for a fun MMO to grind out and play that isnt tranny anime shit.

Whenever I play WoW, I have fun for a week or two, and then it starts feeling psychologically crushing like nothing else.
One thing is thinking about the unbelievable amount of content that the game has, but realizing you can only play the vast majority of it as a broken version where none of the original challenge remains.
The second thing is that the only properly rewarding content is STILL just the current raid (which can be fun), and Mythic+ (which is unbearable to me). Everything else is a nigh-eternal treadmill that drip feeds rewards trying to manipulate you into addiction.
I can't see these things changing with the game. I doubt it's ever going to attempt to impress new players again, but just keep the whales playing and paying. My hopes and wishes are to never hear about it again

I'm playing the second expansion on a private server that started a month ago, before that the first expansion that started about a year ago.
You won't get a "everyone is new" feel anymore but you can play vanilla, tbc and wotlk from the start several times yearly.

I hope they only hire far right people to design and develop the Horde while their DIY liberals maintain the alliance. While making the game entirely skill based. Armor comes with perks and mostly cosmetic like helldivers.. the dungeons and raids need to be absolutely punishing for people to earn the baddass looking mounts and armors.

I'll tell you what I think would happen:

The game would come out.

The diablo immortal catastrophe majorly fucked them and then with all the w*ke slop being shoved into everything - like Dragonflight looked really bad. The character design quality was on the level of retail Everquest (a game that's been on maintenance mode even before WoW came out).

They can get away with it for some time.
