I understand the appeal, but I think it's not implemented well in any games imo.
Tarkov invented it. And they offered some interested methods for investment and growth, but in reality, their implementation (and the entire genre currently) is effectively the fps equivalent of "rogue-lite" games.

You quest and build your base outside of the matches, making you better by grinding over time.
Each match gives you bonuses and other progression if you win.
You're reset back to pre-march stats if you lose.
The main difference is they do seasonal resets to ensure players keep coming back to redo all of the progression all over again.
That's not compelling gameplay beyond the first time you play something like it.
Its a lazy gameplay loop that should've stayed in the 1980s.
That's why people call it slop.
