To the guy asking which Switch 2 micro sd card to buy
Gamestop 1tb. Cheapest, functionally equivalent. Only caveat is 1 yr warranty vs lifetime for the Lexar one.

They have tested it, functionally there is no difference. Even if in practise there was a difference, it's 800Mb/s vs 900Mb/s. The differential in loading times is fractions of a second. Look it up if you dont believe me.

This one is under $200 for 1TB, seemingly

This is a micro sd express card. It's just the most competitively priced.

>>725603223
lmfao it will literally be buried inside your console and out of sight at all times

Buy the non-branded sandisk one.
Every other SD express is shit because they do not display the specs.

Is not special. It's just a "new" format. SD Express.

Because SDs are too slow.
Every PC games nowadays requires an SSD. Well, SD express cards are like a tiny nvme. It uses 1 pcie lane.

You can backup your saves (besides Pokemon) and all your games are linked to Nintendo account. It would suck if it broke somehow (99% of the time it won't), but even if it did, as long as you backed up, youre fine.

Yeah my switch had all my pokemon games and animal crossing save data on it, my switch broke and all of it was permanently gone
So a warranty isnt going to make me feel better because i care more about the pokemon data. Unfortunately its something nintendo and gamefreak are doing on purpose (not allowing backup)

Yeah and Deck is a worse performing platform than Sw2 by basically every performance metric. Nintendo is not going to encourage people to unscrew their console, theyre just going to work with memory card distributors to push the new format. In a few years these cards will be a lot cheaper. Nvmes were pricey as hell back in the day.

Also I have the Deck and can tell you right now you need those half size Nvmes and it's a bitch to install. You just pop the card into Sw2, installation done

I really dont get their angle. Seems like they are purposefully losing money just to force you to buy in their store.

I have used like 6 different sd cards over the past 15 years. Literally none have ever died, I just kept buying bigger ones. I still have most of them, some I sold after 5 years.

Like I said, it barely even matters if you backed your data up. Just get a new card, good to go. But it will probably never even die for 10+ years.

You are an autistic faggot who does not think in realistic outcomes or use cases. Anything will break under undue amounts of stress. Do you also brag about being able to break any car by starting and stalling the engine 10,000 times in a row for 24 hrs straight? Moron.

Save data is stored on the console, and you could save your captures on internal storage as well. The only thing you'd actually lose would be the game data which you can redownload at any time. The point of the warranty is to demonstrate faith in their product, and if you're going to be paying $$$ for a microSD card you may as well go with the manufacturer that says they'll replace it if it breaks.

microSD express is faster than normal MicroSD.

I'm happy about the faster loading times, it's worth switching to these new cards

but the Switch 2 internal storage is even faster, they should've given the Switch 2 a 1TB option...
