The parking lot dinner date is pretty shallow in its semiotics. Like a 12 year old with an obsession with Disney princesses' idea of a perfect romance scene. Plus the forced Marvel levity of waterboy's interruption.

Meanwhile the movie is a lot subtler, mature, complex. Grounded by the light teasing and negging, carried by the intimate voice acting and genuine chemistry. The atmosphere is deftly built up, weaving into the music as the Primer goes up the volume and the register.

It depends on how things conclude with the last two eps, but I was wondering if we could see other branches dispatching at a second season. Or maybe even stick with the same Torrance SDN branch but playing through another dispatcher's PoV, like maybe the Green Lantern lookalike guy. That way we could get another cast of different heroes/villains while still getting cameos and background appearances of the characters we enjoyed on the 1st season.

Perhaps I'm underestimating the popularity and attachment the fanbase is getting with the current dispatch crew which I'm enjoying a lot too, but I'd like to see the Dispatch universe getting expanded a bit more. I think the game and the plot are just more Invisigal centric. Blonde Blazer was the big heroine of the first episode but then things start to focus around Invisigal from chapters 2 through 6 as she gets more and more focus and screentime while BB stays more in the background. Chapters 2 through 6 have also been the bigger meat of the game, it will be hard to change the momentum of how things have been set.

Another thing is that you can actually choose to go to BB's first date, opt to not kiss her and later friendzone her when she asks you on a 2nd date (which gets her hilariously annoyed). If you do that you're pretty much locked again on Invisigal's route, which feels more like a default path, as Invisigal will be the one dancing with Robert instead.

You can't friendzone Invisigal unless you hard commit to the BB route it seems, as Invisigal doesn't take 'no' to the friendzone options at the villain bar.
Now very few people made those BB friendzone choices it seems so it doesn't quite explain the Invisigal vs BB split but it goes back to the point that the game's options and the routes themselves point to Invisigal as the more structural default option. There's also the fact that Laura Bailey was at first going to voice BB then they switched to Invisigal, probably to give her the bigger role.

I like both, probably BB a bit more so I don't mind too much how things go or the rabid waifu wars but it's not hard to acknowledge the game's story and structure, at least so far, has been very Invisigal favored and that is fairly reflected on people's choices.

But lets see what eps 7 and 8 bring and if BB can have hopefully a bigger role to play.
