You know, there are some well cared for spots in india. Mostly for foreigners and the wealthy.
Most of it, and I mean most, is filthy and disgusting.
I actually tested this. I used an income map of mumbai or some other big city and then used google maps to street view into the "rich" parts of town and they were all filthy and poorly maintained.
Yes, there are nice golf courses and shopping areas near resorts. However the vast majority of the place is a nightmare.

A lot of southern india is pretty nice, not like coastal Portugal nice but like southeast asia nice. Most of the really horrific stuff you see is in Delhi or Varanasi.

Yes, I'm sure those spaces that are curated for the upper caste and nobody else is ever allowed to step foot in are very nice. We have them too.
