Any emulation, even of the Switch 1, requires a PC that is multiple times more expensive than just buying a Switch. It's not really threatening anything. Emulation isn't a magic bullet. It will always require way better hardware than the one it is emulating and the increase in hardware requirement is exponential. Especially when it comes to CPU... and most people aren't running high end CPUs.

While people love to point to the Steam Deck as "it's also a Switch" it's not good enough to play Switch games on a performance equal or better to that of just having a Switch.

Basically the amount of people able to emulate a Switch good enough to replace it entirely are not numerous enough to be a significant shift in the entire market. It's maybe fewer than 10% of the PC playerbase.

There is a major difference in available stock, the Switch 1 was impossible to find because of demand for a while just like the Wii. All that means is the people that bought a Switch 1 6 months down the line when it was finally in stock bought a Switch 2 earlier.
