Yes.

Think about what a pile of shit Windows is, now imagine it interfacing with a peripheral that needs absolutely stable and reliable performance. For real, go read UploadVR's article on this thing, the guy who did Valve's demo talks about how it fucked up and started randomly dropping frames and Valve said it was because of Windows. This mirrors my experience exactly.

I sold my index and bought a quest 3, best decision I ever made. It's a worse product in every respect but Microsoft doesn't have a say in whether it fucks up so it's at least reliable and works every time I use it.

That said I'll still buy this, I just have no confidence in it as a VR platform.

Linux "ricing"

What it is: The process of customizing a Linux distribution (like Arch or Hyprland) to create a unique and personalized look and feel.
How it's done: By editing configuration files for the desktop environment, terminal, status bar, and other applications.
Example actions: Changing a window manager's theme, setting a custom wallpaper that persists across logins, or installing specific scripts for a more streamlined and visually appealing system.

VR is an inherently 3D technology, but the impressive aspect has less to do with the 3D and more to do with the tracking creating the illusion of being in another space. If you buy one just to play flat 3D games that's a bit weird
