im betting the sticks are on a separate PCB, valve tends not to make unrepairable hardware. but i fully expect 3d printer autismos to make a good amount of docks/wall mounts and etc for it very quickly for the magnetic charging dongle. and very possible they make non-ass d-pad mods depending on the pcb and membrane design

either way my autistic ass is stoked

could have used onboard 3.5mm though since it has a dongle

Less necessary for this though on account of the back paddles.
The controller is also massive and you couldn't put the sticks higher without making it so only baseball players could use it.

See my Xbox controller here? The chatpad works fine for reaching down and quickly typing something once every few minutes, but you wouldn't want to keep your thumbs resting on it continuously, like if you're having to aim or control a mouse cursor with something down there

Xbox is probably the weirdest one with almost every button having a unique shape, but I guess it's a matter of personal preferences. The Switch controller is not great and it was more of a gyro tax for me, but I definitely like the face buttons.

Interesting. I like that the Deck buttons are big enough to be comfortable when compared to the deck, but the dome shape was... Not great, not terrible. It's probably a reasonable design choice if your target audience is used to Xbox controllers, something that was the norm before the Dual Shock 4 got popular with PC gamers and third party controllers got decent enough.

The DS4 does not have the most comfortable d-pad, but at least it's pretty accurate. With a bad one it's impossible to walk in a straight line with tank controls (emulating Resident Evil 1 or Hard Edge).

With regards to this one.
- I wish the d-pad was textured.
- Waiting for the iFixit review, but the battery will probably be pretty easy to replace if it follows the same design philosophy as the deck.
- The 3 dots button looks like an improvement compared to the one in the deck.
- Pending to see it they improve the sticks over deck. The sticks end scratching themselves against the shell's border and making movement less smooth, but that's probably me putting too many hours on Binding of Isaac.
- Almost the same weight as the Dual Sense and the xbox series controller.

I'm curious, but I can't justify buying yet another controller. Most of the time I play on desktop, so I don't need the touchpads. Luckily I know of at least one friend that will buy it and let me try.

the gaystation controller is 80 and has half of the features and no magnetic sticks that eventually drift

I mean they're not really wrapped around in your pic. Not completely anyway. Your middle and ring fingers are supposed to go on the back buttons with your pinky free on the Steam Controller, not wrap around

Yeah, that's why you use a mouse for fps and other retarded genres.

This will unironically be a great controller if they dont fuck up the quality
The only good controllers in 2025 are gamesar or flydigi.

apparently so are the analog sticks. so you can just tap them with your finger and thats an input, as well as "pushing them in". for whatever reason

it's why you don't use kbm for dark souls and other games where movemen and acceleration/deceleration matter

They should have moved the sticks way up like with the steam deck.
Anonymous No.725763097 [Report]
I have a deck.
If they decided to just use the same internals for the controller, then it's absolutely fucked. The analogs are fine (it has capacitive caps, which is nice), the buttons are mostly fine, the shoulder buttons are mediocre, the back buttons are dogshit, but the worst, the worst thing is the d-pad. If you never had one it is just fucking awful. I already have a really good chinese controller and a dualsense and the touchpads and capacitive thumbsticks aren't enough to make me want this. It should have a good d-pad.
