For being the mascot it's remarkable how shit Dark Magician is. True Light is like 3x better than Eternal Soul. I played a DM deck for awhile and it was sad when I would come across a BEWD deck that could do everything mine did with that was twice as robust and with five times the firepower. Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon feels quaint these days and it's not even that old of a card.

RDA didn't need consistency. I use Sprights to turbo out Vision Resonator and I don't have to put up with a retarded Synchro lock that bottlenecks your endboard.
What RDA needed was a card that made it easier to flip shit face down, or a retrain of Scarlet Security that lets you reveal an RDA as cost instead of control it. Or a quick effect Synchro that is treated as RDA so you can actually punish shit with Crimson Gaia.
The deck is still a go-second deck that actually can't go second.
The only good card in this release is the Level 7 because it can turbo out Lubellion or the Nova Dragon Assault Mode. bc of how its written you can use Nova Dragon in response to an opponent then during the end phase it returns to field with its effects intact.
The trap card might be the most frustrating. It just needed to be a spell and count monsters summoned last turn like Typhon. A fucking trap card, lol.

the first half of the series is a kino of the highest caliber and peak Yu Gi Oh desu. the target audience is shounen but the show is mature and has universal appeal in terms of writing and presentation up to that point. the problems start showing up during the second half when a lot of great plotlines get shafted, character arcs get ruined, and writing becomes progressively more juvenile and retarded. all because the main writer left the show halfway through production. When you look at a screenshot for tag force it looks so fucking lame, generic VN looking shit, low res PSP game.

But the gameplay is incredible, I'm playing it right now on my Retroid Pocket 5 with 5x upscaling so the visuals are super clean, and with a mod that puts the japanese voices in. I finished ARC-V. Those last chunk of episodes felt really unnecessary, and all the clones but Yuya/Yuzu basically being erased is pretty fucked up. I really thought ALL of them, including Z-ARC and Ray would get to be their own people. Also really dislike those cliffhanger endings the series will sometimes do as a duel is in the midst of occurring or about to start and then ends abruptly.

Joeri is the best villain of ARC-V, though.
