Sorry, I dont have time to listen to all these million dialogs
Anonymous No.725749652 [Report] >>725752962
I've never seen anyone else mention this but this game gave me so much fatigue

The problem isn't the amount of dialogue. VNs are one of my favorite genre. The problem is that EVERYTHING in this game warrants 15 minutes of dialogue about pointless stuff I don't want to care about. It's overwhelming.

Like, sometimes I'd boot the game and find myself in a town, my objective is to speak to a certain NPC. In the process of reaching that NPC, talking to them and leaving the town there went 2 hours of playtime during which I heard the problems of every single person there, picked up several quests, failed some because I chose the "wrong" option, heard new lore from my companions and made some like me more and others hate me, and so on, all the while the only thing I wanted was to get to the damn NPC and progress a specific quest.

And then there's how every dialogue gives you several choices, and the game is not clear about how each choice will impact your journey. You never know what choice will lock you out of something, so you have to tryhard decisions every 3 minutes out of fear of missing something, sometimes you have to google it, it's so exhausting

Let's not even get into combat. Unless you are playing on the easiest difficulty every fight is extremely stressful and requires a lot of preparation

It's an exhausting game

>Play a type of RPG known to be about extensive dialogue branching
>Be shocked that there are a million dialogues for some reason
What's your next favourite instance?
>Play football game
>Be exhausted by football related commentary

my problem with it is that there's so many different outcomes/permutations from quest and story arcs, and the game is so long and drawn out -- that i'll never actually have the energy to go back through additional play-throughs for them.

Don't worry, it all condenses to the end of act 1 and you're on rails right after you leave it right up untill mass effect 3 colour ending selection, with gays and niggers being everywhere you look along the way.

And that's a fair sentiment, but it's also pretty much just a personal thing not really a flaw in the game.

You seem to be both of those things so you must be elated about the representation!

Everyone is the audience for it. You don't qualify as people, though.

Just jump over the traps. You've already succeeded your perception rolls on them.
Also, why are you bloodless? Cast lesser restoration on your character after you do gay vampire stuff with Astarion.

I've been trying to get through a second playthrough for about a year and a half now. Have done 75% of Act 1 and gotten burnt out and uninstalled like 4 times now. I like the game but it's so slow paced that replays are a struggle.

I disagree. Replaying the game is so much faster than the first play through. I just finished the first act in my first honour mode run, and it has been so much easier than the first time I played it on explorer which has resulted in it being very fast.

Tabletop DnD has an infinite number of outcomes for any given adventure. BG3 obviously can't have that, because the DM isn't a human, so the closest they can get is having like you said a huge number of permutations and outcomes to emulate a real life decision making scenario.

yeah i understand. It's a psychological thing.. I just can't bother to go back into a game to explore any of those after spending so much time on the first playthrough. This is in contrast to a shorter campaign, where diving back in doesn't feel like such a sunk cost in terms of time.
For example I was wanting to have Minthara in my party, sided with her at the end of act 1, yet due to a bug she didn't appear at all in act 2; i went in blind so i didn't know this was a bug until i was well into act 3 and looked it up.
I'm not going to bother going back through all of that just to recruit her.

(This is why I like games like Sekiro or AC6, playing through for different endings is extremely quick)
