I actually think that's true in part, but in a synonym of the main problem which is society is pretty bleak for young men which is why they check out and turn to escapism.

The dream of working working a decent job to me able to afford a nice house with a white picket fence and raising a big family with a relatively unsullied wife is pretty much dead.
