You can’t emulate DS. Without a real resistive touch screen everything will always feel sluggish, unless all you play is Pokémon.

PC emulation solves this usually by letting you use your mouse and clicking on the bottom screen.
Steam Controller comes with a trackpad which works as a mouse.
Ergo, you dont need to use a mouse every 5 seconds when emulating DS games on PC.

Or, get a drawing tablet. I still use this Wacom from well over a decade ago. So old, it only has drivers for Win7. (Works fine with Linux tho.)

I mean, I use a Hori tactical commander for my left hand for the analog stick and keys(depending on ds or 3ds) and then use my mouse in my right hand for the touch screen. It's far more comfortable than ds ever was and it makes Kid Icarus Uprising actually have a decent control scheme.
