That term was first used in the scientific field, as a broad term for anyone over 18 attracted to anyone under 18, you know how scientists like their obtuse phrasing of shit. Over the years this became a more widely known term, a very small number of pedos who wanted to get help not becomming offenders reffered to themselves as "map" because it sounds less harsh than pedo, and after that some time the right wing got a hold of the term, and started lying about "MAP" being "the socially correct term to refer to pedos" and more importantly, they started the lie that among "wokes" (at that time still refered to as "SJW's") see a MAP, in the same light they see a fag, or a dyke, or a tranny, or an asexual, or whatever else. That if someone was "minor attracted" that it's just as acceptable as being gay, and that you should leave them alone! That they have MAP floats at pride, etc. etc.
This was never real. For all of modern gay history, the main weapon against the fag has been: "They're coming for your kids", and this "map acceptance" was nothing more than a fake rumor pushed by right wingers to pretend that the fags are coming after the kids again, and this time it's openly and widely accepted.
Truth is: no respected "woke" person, has honestly argued to just "let pedos be pedos". Right wingers have tho. People like Milo Yiannopoulos, and many other conservatives have.
