I don't think it's a black and white thing. It depends on how juicy that wit training is, if you're training others, if you need that energy. You just got measure where you're at in the run and if it makes sense.

I generally have no issue getting high wit without exploding balls on wit, I am for the other categories generally speaking. But most runs I wind up popping 1-2 balls there anyways because I run out of good options.

Wit balls give less stats but give more energy, and more energy generally gives you more stats later.
I still prefer my balls on other stats, but there are times when it's really nice to have them on wit. I've noticed they're especially useful if have an upcoming team match and need to boost your team stats just a little more before it.

Biwa is more suited to Long races. She just got buffed due to a change to the games mechanics and skills.

Eishin Flash is a new trainee, but she seems pretty good.

The truth is any Uma can be good, but they have races they're more suited to than others. What's important is that you have a strong deck of support cards to make them strong. So don't blow all your carats on trainees. Like the other anon said save for the Kitasan banner in about a month from now.

The starting 1* and 2* Uma trainees are also very strong, dont neglect them.

Unlike the other lates like Vodka, Grass, Paizuri has a 15% speed and 15% guts growth which I can't really get much from the latter since I'm not doing guts or stamina training very much. Which makes capping speed and power kind of a bitch.
