Am I the only one who let Shroud live just on the hope he pops up in later seasons? I thought he was a lot of fun to watch and liked his background + the subtext of him being a bitter middle-aged prick with self-esteem issues underneath the cold exterior. It'd be really cool to have the option to consult him in prison to help with a later bad guy.

I know this is new!Telltale and there's a solid chance that he's completely irrelevant regardless, but given the Sonar/Coupe and Invis/BB route having some meaningfully significant differences this time around I'm more optimistic they'll throw us a bone. It'd be really fun to have a mini-Weird route where Shroud gets a scene or two every season that you could just completely miss out on if you killed his ass.

Tbqh all of Visi's shit in the final two episodes feel like it was rewritten late in development and they never went through and cleaned it all up. I'm not saying it's straight up bad but it is kind of noticeable after you stop and think about it. They act like she is still working for them but literally just two episodes prior its implied she went dark on them and the gang is looking for her to bring her in. Then there's the whole thing with her augments being turned off when she was supposedly still working for them. She said she left after the bomb, they turned it off, and she went to SDN in desperation. It was turned off because her asthma is in full force from the first time you meet her. I was surprised at how they actually pulled off the 'your choices matter' with Visi in that no single choice will make her go evil, it's the culmination of choices that do. I cut her from the team, but since I played Robert as supportive and trusting of her, she still took a bullet for me. I got to keep her from going evil AND got to keep romancing BB. Win/Win for me, I prefer the mentor route with Visi anyway.

i think maybe you misunderstood me. my guess is a previous draft had her being a spy all along, them giving her the mask confirms it, and it was supposed to be a huge twist, but in the final draft a few things make absolutely no sense if she was really on their side all along - shroud trying to kill her at the warehouse being maybe the biggest of those plotholes. there's no reason for him to kill her there if he wants her to be his spy until the final battle, and if he planned to get rid of her, she'd be stupid to go back to him and he would be incredibly suspicious if she showed back at his doorstep, asking to remain his spy.

as it stands it's really poorly explained - he just says it, everyone accepts it, and then he eats shit for it (despite being "mr. predict everything"). and he can't possibly be bluffing because they had the mask ready. someone will probably tie it all together eventually and i'm sure people will retrospectively say "oh it made total sense" but the fact that people are still confused about it 24 hours later means they fucked up.
