Was the last chapter rewritten a lot? Why did shroud try to pretend Invisi is a plant when just earlier he outright states she’s doing her own thing right after trying to kill her?

Fuck a sequel and fuck that critical role game. This needs a directors cut or whatever they want to call it that adds a few more scenes to episodes 1 and 2, and adds 2 more episodes between robert getting started and someone getting cut. Coop and Sonar need more scenes at the start to make the choice an actual choice, and they need to clean up some of the writing near the end.
Episodes 1 to 3 really feel like a scam that development hell must have really messed this up

The last episode's writing was a bit weak at the end desu, with Shroud going like "aight imma kill the dog if you dont give me the McGuffin that'll make me nearly unstoppable". Kinda weird that any of the even reformed villains on the team would be like "oh no!" They could have at least gotten shroud to nab one of the Z-Team in a bomb jacket and go either give it to me or they die. That'd be more dramatic. Also the weird quadruple double cross thing with Visi was disorienting. It felt like we had three different scenes where it was "WOAH SHE WAS A DOUBLE AGENT ALL ALONG?!?!" It just got a little exhausting at the end.

All in all loved every minute though. Can't decide between Latina bad bitch, bomb shell muscle chick, or 6' 6.6" demon mommy. I want a season 2 where we can romance and fuck everyone on the Z team.

Autism thought: Chase's 'sacrifice' at the end of Ep6 doesn't actually make a ton of sense. He ages 50x faster while running, okay... but his trip to rescue Invisigal takes like 2 minutes. Maybe 5 if we're being VERY generous about the jump cuts. 5 * 50 = like 4-5 hours of aging at most. Unless he was hours away from death before this run, the run itself shouldn't have killed him.

That said, it may have been generic exertion in old age, if we pretend that it was like he ran for 5 hours straight instead of a few minutes, so it's not a plot hole or anything, but it's a bit dubious.

If you read the comics Shroud actually made the Astral Pulse specifically so that Mecha Man (dad) would let him officially join the Brave Brigade. Because for whatever reason Robbie kept blocking him from joining even though the entire team voted to let him in. Shroud gets pissed about it, challenges Mecha Man to a duel, Robbie sits there and instead of suiting up and humoring him, he just beats Shroud nearly to death and essentially tells him he's a bitch who doesn't deserve it. Chase has to come in and save Eli, says "what the fuck?" and they go in and talk about it, and then Shroud goes school shooter mode and shoots Robbie with his own gun he stole from the locker.

Visi's situation was the real 'your choices matter' of the game, as you can do key things in later eps like cut her from the team and she will still stick with you if you are supportive of her. Helping her with the robbery, not demeaning her, being respectful but having boundaries, and most importantly, believing in her when she needs it all add up, and you're allowed to take some slights at her before the villain route becomes her lock in.

I want more of those kinds of choices for the next season: Less 'this one choice will change EVERYTHING' and more 'all of these small sounding choices will add up until you reach a breaking point in the story where your actions will influence the decisions of another character'. You can choose not to help her during the bank robbery thats a huge one, talk down at her whenever shes in an argument like between her and Chase instead of being neutral or with her, side against her when she suggests taking the astral pulse, reject her advances, ditch her for BB, and a few smaller choices like that.

It seems to be a cumulative thing, where you need X amount of positive choices for her to not turn into a villain. Neutral options dont change the needle, but ones where you are positive or negative to her do. So I was neutral with most of the clashes she had with others, but positive to her and supportive while also helping her when she needed it. My positive choices were enough to make cutting her from the team not enough to make her go evil.
