You can use your voice to generate a character (what I'm going to use), It also looks like it can imitate a photo you upload as best as it can. It is somewhat close to what you upload, but it's not 80% or so more like 70~60%. There are a lot of 'player made' characters you can choose from as well if you're not good at it.
The character creator is super involved from the looks of things. Similar if not better than Black Desert Online.

It's not uncommon to read a book about a "hero" who's fight with someone else will have casualties in the hundreds of thousands if not millions. Basically two gods duking it out while the mortals suffer from the backlash.
A lot of common themes are;

1)yes, there are 2 types of fan/umbrella combo, healing and dps one
2)yes but people recommend taking 1 dps weapon+1 healing weapon while you are doing the story for convenience
3)You can refund mats used to upgrade weapons and use them to level a new weapon so it's not a big problem as long as you don't switch all the time. At high upgrade lvl only 80% of mats get refunded.

all weapons have 2 different schools of skills (aka builds)

Fan and umbrella are the only 2 party healing weapons (fan primarily), but they both also have a dps school which is full dps. Unless you want boss fights to take ages (on legend difficulty aka not-omega easy slop mode) then you'll want to take a dps school weapon along with healing fan and then respec that weapon into healing umbrella when you reach group play.

Personally I will probably split my skill books between the 4 fan/umbrella schools to try them out before respeccing into what's most fun later.
