Well, almost all games released there days are filled with shortcomings. So them having sexy women or not is kind of moot. Some uses sexy women as a distraction, some use gays and transsexuals. Personally I'd rather play the ones with sexy women.

Yeah, but that's different. Most fiction and hero stories rely on exaggeration, but this is an exaggeration of real life archetypes and people. The fictional society is always based no ours in one way or another, unless it's a very strange, fantastical setting, but many ideal, stereotypical or desirable traits are exaggerated.
In a setting like that, it still doesn't make any sense to make women as capable as men, considering that would require you to rework everything, including how women look (they would look like men), their role in society and how men and women interact, given that our way of interacting is based on men being taller, stronger and more aggressive, while women are also further limited by being mothers and having periods.

That said, a single man defeating a dragon with a sword and shield also implies that the setting is very unrealistic and very cartoony. In most settings where a knight kills a dragon, he usually uses his wits and his surroundings to defeat it, rather than simply attacking it head on, or the dragon has some kind of weakness that can be exploited. The Hobbit book has a very good example of this.
