>Skill and guts are required here>Be a buddy, not a border>All planes are beautiful dreams>DELAY THE FINAL ATTACKFAQ:
>Has the Project Wingman update dropped yet?Haha...
>Is there any AC8 news yet?No.
>Has a PS2 trilogy remake been announced yet?No.
>>526022562 (OP)Oh shit, buddy, thanks for making the new thread.
Let's start it nicely: have you buddies heard that AC6 can be played in multiplayer again?
>>526023462... It was literally posted in the last thread.
>>526022562 (OP)>>Has the Project Wingman update dropped yet?>Haha...It still hasn't released yet?
>>526029176Do you consider slightly prettier clouds that may or may not make your game run like complete ass the update? If so, it came out.
If you're talking about content teased such as new planes, no that hasn't released yet.
Just three more days until Ace Combat 8 isn't revealed at Summer Game Fest, you guys excited?
>>526024205Wife spotted in background
>>526029176Worse clouds and F59 with bugs which haven't been fixed since PS5 version - yes. All the promised stuff? No.
>>526034742Honestly I'm just hoping for news regarding Planetenverteidigungskanonenko (or PVKK for short).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jHKXl02LQ4
They revealed it this time last year and have been silent ever since.
>>526034742Despite everything after the Elden Ring announcement back in 2021 being mediocre I'm excited about SGF. Not so much about AC 8.
>>526047694Shooting the big gun looks fun but the rest eh I don't know.
>>526048896>SGFThis show has been around for years at this point but man, it really pales in comparison to E3 when it comes to notable announcements.
>>526049959>>526050121The secret ending to 8 where we tell Nagase to get the fuck down?
The next few weeks holds the most realistic possibility of a new game announcement since the release of 7 six years ago, and this general can't even manage to keep itself alive to the bump limit. Old /aceg/ really is gone, isn't it? It's a sorry shell of its former self. In the old days we would've been burning through threads every other day from the excitement. Seems lethargic and tired around here now.
>>526049161It doesn't help that PS and Xbox aren't part of SGF while they were part of E3, leaving only the unaligned games to be shown.
>>526051092Pay attention buddy last thread hit 750+ besides its very comfy now. Before the storm hits and all hell breaks lose once again.
>>526051092 >Old /aceg/ really is gone, isn't it?Has been for a while.
>In the old days we would've been burning through threads every other day from the excitementIn the old days there was the online focused Ace Combat Infinity and the AC7 reveal trailer with all the speculation and expectations it carried with it, in the current days we have fuck all except the knowledge that there is probably, maybe, an Ace Combat 8 in development and that Ace Combat 7's development was troublesome so the possibility of 8's also being fucked doesn't fill anyone with confidence.
>>526051371I wouldn't mind it going faster, 2021 and 2022 were still "comfy" while not being miserably slow like we can be at times.
Maybe thereโll be something at the PlayStation state of play tomorrow

How's life buddies? I'm doing pretty good actually, lots of exciting change coming to my life. I suddenly felt the urge to make liveries again and finished an old skin, I'm very happy with the result
>>526051092what is there to talk about? there is simply no news. I'll be keeping an eye out but I'm not getting my hopes up
>>526053557That one's pretty good, is it inspired by an IRL one?
>>526053557The skin is really pretty, only thing I did recently was re-do a skin from last year on the Legacy Hornet mod.
>>526051092>The next few weeks holds the most realistic possibility of a new game announcement since the release of 7 six years agodo you expect people to get hyped over radio silence by conjuring delusions
i know silksong causes that to happen but ace combat isn't that type of game
>>526051092It's difficult to keep interest for a game franchise that hasn't had an entry in almost a decade
And /vg/ today has crazy amounts of traffic from gachashit games that go through threads constantly.
Gripen went "in" Eagle

What are your favourite delta wings for dogfighting? Do you think you're capable of sending the enemies to a snowy grave, or are you not enough of a big shot?

>>526068291One of these. The have this more aggressive look compared to the western deltas.
>>526051092>In the old days we would've been burning through threads every other day from the excitement>when threads would hang around page 10 constantly in the content drought before AC7's release date trailerHow long have you been here, buddy?
>>526068291The Rafale is a top tier plane in AC7 but I honestly think the Typhoon is prettier.
I don't care how many times I have played this level. This scene always gets me, by far one of the best scenes in the whole franchise.
Gotcha ya Hamilton
>You now have this image of Hamilton running from his crashed 1.44 somewhere on the streets all the way to Grunder's hanger to grab a fresh 1.44 and chase you into the tunnel with.
I think my pilots need some more meat in base supplied meals they are starting to look a litlte scrawny.
This image was aimed at Nagase's plane so I'm sure she would be happy some with a lot more meat in her diet
>>526079052PS2 pilot models are so lean I used to think there was a helmet attached to the seat and not much else.
>>526054737>>526057020Thanks buddies. It's not based on a real livery, the dot pattern is derived from whale shark skin and underneath that is a simple splinter pattern. I really enjoy coming up with the patterns and markings myself

>>526023462Oh damn, I'll have to look into that once I get a better computer.
And once again for the 3rd time the first run of 5 is complete.
>>526079052How I feel during a cut
I wish I were bulking right now
Whats the second best game in the series after AH? 5?
>>526051092Given that unique ip tracking died, we genuinely have no clue how many people are left.
>>526119507Guaranteed delivery with in 10 miles of any enemy airfield anywhere across an enemy nation. Or double your money back
The US continues down the road of making AC real. The Navy used the MQ-101 for testing while the Air Force has selected the MQ-99 for production.
Yes I know the 99 was based off a German drone but this new one really looks a lot closer to it.
Wonder when we'll be building the ArkBird & Arsenal Birds?
>>526120031War crimes, any time!
>>526122167Whoops, wrong picture
also the joke doesnt work, im thinking of the wrong conflict, i dont think the drone strikes count as a war crime, probably?
>>526122320They have been at war for over 3 years now the drones went in on military targets only. Its all good no war crime in this. Just a very well pulled off attack on enemy air assets.
At the rate we're going even this will be carrying drones along with its guided rockets.
>>526051092Hey dipshit we hit the bump limit last thread
>>526124669How long until proper fin funnels?
>go to some used game shops before walking around my little cousin's campus
>snag a copy of AC4, she picks up a charger for her old new 3DS she dug up
>we spend an hour jailbreaking her 3DS, she downloads Persona Q
>I dl Assault Horizon Legacy+ while she's playing around on her phone, always regretted never buying a copy during the 3DS generation
>play the first mission just to see how it runs, slam into the ground after she jokingly asks if I can crash in the game
>later after downloading more games she opens up AHL just to see what it was about
>watch with pure wonder as she struggles and slowly gets better with the Classic controls
>she'll use Attack Maneuvers to help take out enemies, but she's also good about shooting them down regularly
>every time she crashes it just fires her up to replay the mission and get it right this time
>she every mission she makes comments about how she's surprised at how good the soundtrack is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhVNxrQSZns
>we only stop because I look at the time and see it's 3 am
I got to watch a little nugget take flight, buddies.
Trying to shoot down all the planes in 8492 to complete the mission but holy shit these guys piss me off. They maneuver like the AC7 drones when I try to shoot them down, I can't turn fast enough in my F-16 to joust them, and the only ones that get shot down are the ones that stop following me because Nagase and Grimm are shooting them.
I won't give up and go through the return line though, these guys pissed me off harder in my first playthrough of AC5 when I flew an A-10 for this mission.
>>526140110The enemies in 8492 are specifically beefed up to be bullshit, but they become more manageable if you can hit the jamming planes first.
>>526122934It could be argued as perfidy since the trucks were disguised as civilian vehicles. But sabotage operations against military assets have been carried out by ununiformed agents throughout history and, to my knowledge, no ones ever been charged as a war criminal for it. People only really care about perfidy if it's done with the intent to kill people, assets are fair game.
>>526139014Report on her favourite ace squadron
>>526139014Ask her favorite plane when she's done.
I love how the SP Missions are much more lighter (at least the first and the second missions), it made them feel like OVA episodes.
Glamrock Squadron.. come back..
>>526148856you call Trigger giving a woman a mental breakdown (Anchorhead Raid) 'lighter'?
>>526149463She is solely responsible for all this.
>>526122320>>526122934>3 years of Nation Y bombing nation X's cities, villages and playgrounds>nation X hits at Y's airbases>purely military target>''uhm is nation X technically committing war crimes?????''
>>526149930Just like OSEA on Belka. Someone needs to put them in their place.
there should be an ace combat mission where you pretend to be medevac plane
>>526150126Just realized this comparison is too convoluted despite the irony being clear in my head before posting it.
>>526151261The spooky mission in AH convinced me that i DON"T want that.
I don't think the devs can make it fun in a way that won't turn completely loony with events around you.
>>526151429fair
I was just making a war crimes joke
>>526151459In that way, it could have been a fun idea. Where you are piloting a cargo plane (like the 747 in ACX2) on a "relief" mission to an area close to where, according to intel, local rebel-extremists are having some gathering. Once you enter the are you see there is a massive force present all over the place, but they let you though due to your designations.
As you break course towards the target, you bomb the fuck out of the designated target compound and hightail it out of there as everything from all over the map starts to chase you.
Mission well done... then news breaks that the extremists were actually called to the table of local leaderships (hence the huge non-inconspicuous defense force) to "de-escalate" rebel conflict and tensions, but you've just blown all that shit to pieces. So we got a middle east scenario on our hands, but with far more cohesion from the victims, as well as all other peace oriented neighbors.
Since AC is a pussy game good-bad-guys wise and you can not commit war crimes for any reason, the guy who sent you on the mission was a greymen Belkan infiltrator. The blame is still on "good guy nation" as he leaked OP details not long after the strike and the plane identity, while vanishing from the military records himself.
>>526151261Might work, actually!
>get in a GA plane (a Caravan, maybe?) in the dead of night>make your way through an extremely tight canyon to evade CAP fighters>no searchlights, but you have to keep your distance from observation towers>near the end, you cross a light attack aircraft by complete coincidence and get chased until you reach the map border>>526158041Was dogfightan
>>526126636As soon as we get that direct brain link to plane system figured out.
>>526140110This level has a few things you can do take them down easily
>The most important take out both AWACS planes first. One spawns with each wave for they display fake targets on your HUD.>Your wingman Ai is a bit wonky on this stage do not change order until a few seconds after 8492 starts to attack.>You need to keep up a high speed only slowing down when you really have to but keep it to a minimum>LOTS of turning at full thrust>When the Belkans group behind you change orders to cover and keep flying as you are Nagase & Grimm will start to shoot them down for you.>You'll need to keep hitting cover every ~30 seconds to make sure they will keep attacking the Belkans on your tail.>Don't go after lone planes unless you have cover selected and watch out for massed gunfire from the rear.>You need to spend most of this level being the bait not the attacker >Change your orders to attack sometimes it keeps your wingmen from just wondering off for no reason.Really wanna go he fuck you and your plane too?
all 3 of you take QAAM planes or just take the Falken
Fun Falken tricks get the Belkans all grouped up behind you do a loop and keep looping they will follow. Slow down & speed up in your looping. The loop speeds with change after a few more loops where you start to pass them. They are all bunched up into a Belka ball. Turn on TLS while looping they all die when you pass them again as they are so tightly packed the TLS hits all of them at once.
>>526162447It's funny how in every bit of gameplay I've watched, every bit of advice I've seen, and every time I've played this mission, the solution is always to force an overshoot on the Belkans like you'd do it in MP.
>>526162769Idk, i always try to make all of them to chase me, then i play barrel rolls until they end up overtaking me and i get a number of shots in before starting it all over (they disperse once you lock on; alternatively use rocket pods and they may not evade even when shot, idk, AI doing AI things).
I do get fucked up if i miscalculate during the cheese maneuvers.
>>526152394SDB on an F-1?
Given how many weapons we are making work on anything. I really hope Kono has given each plane 6 SPW choices this time. Yes it'll make things highly redundant but it also opens up more fun allowing you take almost anything for any type of mission.
Plus I wanna see HARM's and Storm Shadows on my Mig-29 hmm wonder if Su-24 made it? We can always do with more swing wings in the game.
>>526152394It was in ACI, if memory serves, so there may be hope. It was specifically the EW variant, the Su-24MP.
>>526163140>F-16Where did that fucking 6 go?????
>>526162769Doing that has a high change of you getting shot down from massed gunfire or missile spam. When grouped up when one shoots 3 or 4 more also shoot at the same time
I just played the level a couple of days ago and its what I do every time I play it. It works with out fail
>>526084765That's actually quite an interesting design process.
>>526163140>>526163524The Have Glass hid it.
>>526053557It's genuinely amazing, buddy, good shit.
Ever wonder what new plane smells like?
>>526165335All clean, fresh paint, isn't an overweight whale.
>>526140110I did this 2nd try the other day in the Gripen, was not as difficult as I remembered. Give a disperse order and you can get cheeky 3rd party kills if they start fighting your squad. And when they group up on your tail climb and barrel roll so they overshoot for an easy kill. Use the gun.
>>526163105Rocket pods are great for bursting down the AWACS in one quick pass.
Wish there were more spaceplanes
>>526163140>>526163524Yeah, more specifically on a Terma PIDS+ pylon on an F-16AM. I think it's the first public photo of PIDS+ carrying a BRU-61 where the pylon is actually visible, certainly the first I've seen.
>Plus I wanna see HARM's and Storm Shadows on my Mig-29AC7 actually has a functionality where Skins can change spw loadouts, mods use it quite frequently nowadays. I'd like to see that officially supported in 8, where skins change the loadout to better reflect the equipment of a certain nation.
Storm Shadow wouldn't go on a Fulcrum though, only Fencers carry them in UkrAF service
>>526147334She's only played up to Mission 4 so she's only fought Lancer Squadron so far
.
>>526147502Roger buddy.
>>526173338I just said on the 29 because I know it will be in the game the 24 on the other hand is up in the air.
I found this cool figure, and I'm gonna set up a nameplate in front of him and an aircraft model behind him in an AC character's livery. Question is, who? Mobius 01? Blaze? Southern Cross? Talisman? Trigger? An NPC who was never given a face?
What's your all's thoughts?
>>526177840My thoughts?
You paid $60 for a figure that shouldn't cost more than $15 at most
But price aside he looks older most MC tend to be younger Trigger was on his first assignment Blaze was still in a training squad. The best choices would be pilots that should be older when you start the game. Cipher, Scarface 1 or Southern Cross.
>>526178680Ehh, it's about as detailed as those $150+ anime figures, so wasn't sweating it.
Great point about his apparent age, hadn't considered it. Cipher and Phoenix are mercenaries though, dunno if they'd necessarily be kitted out with USAF-like AFE. Whoever I decide to make them, I'll paint over their respective flag on his shoulder.
>>526177840He kinda looks like an older Pixy a bit.
Are there any yellow planes IRL?
>>526192079/aceg/ F. found a bunch of Yellow Su-22s, if memory serves, but he couldn't find a Yellow 13
I'm in a livery-making mood, buddies, and I feel the Mirage could use the /aceg/ treatment. What sort of livery would you like to see on it? Anything that tickles your fancy?
>>526194689Some sort of :3 mouth on the nose. With the little anime fang maybe.
>>526194689As always Summer Verdant.
Anything on State of Play?
>>526194689What about a white or light-colored sections on the leading & trailing edges. SU-57 style. Could have a standard camo or anything else in the mid section.
>>526210539not anything ace combat related
>>526200275that would fit much better on the A-10 imo
>>526194689Tiger stripes that way you can make 3 skins
White, yellow, orange
>>526179695>dunno if they'd necessarily be kitted out with USAF-like AFECipher and Scarface are both in top tier of aces they are filthy stinking rich they can buy whatever gear they want.
I had forgot this was a thing in 5
>Finish all 16 stages in Arcade Mode. Afterwards, Mobius 1 will be able to pilot all 53 aircraft unlocked (paint schemes included) and bought in Campaign Mode but, with limited ammunition (20 missiles, 4 special weapons)
>>526222863Hmm not bad at all
>>526222863This is great, I especially love the sawtooth version. I would make the belly completely white though, I know some version of that su-57 livery also has a patterned belly but I prefer the traditional countershaded look
Well I just ran across one of the more rare things in 5 a B-2 launching a flare.
>Inhales deeply
F-5-chan has some unique taste in her kinks
>>526024205can't for the life of me find the source of the image, i think it's a taiwanese artist on twitter but i can't remember his name and saucenao and danbooru can't give me shit. anyone know who it's from?

Saw an F-35 over the town today turning hard enough to produce wingtip vortices. Sexo.
>>526210783>>526222863I really like this one. Think I'll do the dogtooth one, though with the top one's nose.
>>526232781Does the B-2 even have countermeasures IRL?
>>526276861No idea but its also Strangereal where F-117's have guns.
>>526222863>>526276861Gray-blue is a bit dull. Why not teal, maybe with a camo pattern
>>526288204YO. Now we're talking, buddy, top one looks incredible.
>>526272658>>526287993Draken better come back for AC8.
>>526298485Well if the opening attack wrecks Sota's airfroce bad enough and we to use whatever they can scrape up out of the bone yard then it could return.

I'm gonna be real disappointed if we don't get a multiplayer similar to Infinity in 8. Not being able to scratch the itch of wanting to fight Aigaion with other players anymore makes me sad.
>>526334829I miss Infinity. It was fun (sometimes)
>>526336317Sometimes I regret not playing Infinity. Yeah sure I didn't have the time for it to start with back then either but still.
Everything seems to point to PA was really paying attention to what people wanted to be better in 7 so hopefully we get what we want.
>>526336893kono has like 30 brazilians giving him ace combat wishlists everytime he tweets about his work lunch, they're tapped in for sure
Yeah this looks familiar complete with a PSM kill

>>526353123Yes but the question is why? I want to see a trailer for 8 too but at the same time its been so long that I refuse to get my hopes up just to be shot down yet again. It does sound like he has something to show off tomorrow. the last time turned out to be the Switch version of 7 not AC8 so now I just wait with no expectation just I wait.

>>526354573The rona has had a really fucking strange way of messing with how time feels. Stuff form 2020-2023 feels far longer ago than stuff from 2019 does.

but I'd like it.
You'd think they'd at least have done a teaser by now or something, just to tell people that it exists.
Hey there, buddies! /vg/ League 24 kicks-off today in 20 minutes, and /aceg/'s first match will be against /vn/ - Visual Novels, in around an hour. https://cytube.implying.fun/c/vgleague

Hi I'm Jeff Keely. Ace combat 8 is cancelled. The franchise is over. No more arcade fighter games.
>>526452540And now here's Kojima.
>>526452540Project aces is gonna work on Mario Planes.
>>526451740realistically, what are our chances?
>>526453157I'm not feeling it so only 25%
I kinda hoped all this marvel stuff'd be over by now.
Looks like it's gacha o'clock.
What's this fucking skit?
this is so fucking bad holy shit
>>526459487Yeah, it looks like it's trying to go hard unapologetically first and foremost. I can respect that.
>>526459583I actually liked the first one despite shit talking the trailer back when I saw it for the first time so many years ago. If they maintain the game quality at least their trailers have improved.
40 minutes left but it seems the bandai section's over. Oh well.
>>526460448keep watching or you'll miss the half life 3 announcement

I don't like our odds tonight, buddies
Had my hopes up for a sec
lol they sure got me with that thirtieth anniversary comment
I got excited about the 30th anniversary but I knew it wasn't it because Ace Combat isn't that well known
>he just said the words 30th anniversary
>it's resident evil
I've lost all hope, maybe Kono should just come out and reveal Project Aces has been mostly disbanded and now work as a support studio for other Namco games while he helps with the trailers.
>>526462896If there isnโt anything on the actual anniversary on the 30th then itโs truly over
>>526463090I'm surprised there are other MMOs aside from WoW and FFXIV, their species is rather short lives and usually doesn't last longer than a couple years.
>titanfall 3 mentioned

>I want Titanfall 3

i can't even
If we get to the end of June that's when I'll start showing real concern.
>>526463948You can tell they were heavily inspired by Respawn Entertainment
>>526463948What do you expect from someone with that hat?
>>526464268The hat was supposed to be a distraction for good things to come...
So that's the last reveal of the night?
What date's the anniversary? Not like it matters, the game doesn't exist anyways.
Decisive chud victory.
>>526464743RE9. Looks neat, but I don't play horror games.
I don't know why I keep doing this to myself
How long until that xbox thingy?
No no, there is still Day of the Devs, the indie game showcase. Remember it's a small family company after all. Drop tank is empty, will loiterl the 30th, but if here is still nothing then we might need to RTB until next year.
Come on Kono
Hit us with another tweet about how hard it is to pretend to work.
Either Kono has decided to go all-in on anni or PA is turbo dev-hell that makes 7's look like child's play.
>>526466949>>526464843Please understand, the dev manpower was needed to make sure Code Vein 2 looked as much like liquid shit as possible.
>>526466949Surely they could have shown something after 4 years in development.
>>526467407If porn artisst don't remeber your game, get another job. Did the first game even get 1 million sales?
>>526467650I mean, did anyone here thought Zero Remake was ever gonna fly as a legit leak?
>>526468183Not bad for a game i stopped hearing about like 2 days after release, I guess that white haired chick with a single bare foot did some magic after all.
>>526468118first I hear of this, but a zero remake """leak""" is too retarded to take seriously in the first place

>>526467650>4 years in development.Bandai Namco Aces wasn't formed until 2022, shortly after 7's last piece of DLC, and their first project was porting 7 to Switch. Pre-production could've been done at the same time, but full scale development of 8 wouldn't have started until late 2023/early 2024.
>>526468517This fandom is going through the equivalent of a Victorian man seeing exposed ankles and going through like 35 years without a footjob at the same time.
What do you guys think of AC8's confirmed Estovakia setting? I personally expected something from Verusa but I dig the idea of having the protagonists be from a prior game's antagonist nation this time around. I wonder what the story's about though.
The 30th will come soon enough. Hope to see you all tomorrow for the shootout, buddies.
>>526469994Is it confirmed to be in Estovakia?
JUST FUCKING MAKE ACE COMBAT 8 ALREADY
WHAT'S YOUR FUCKING EXCUSE

If they don't show anything at the anniversary I will truly believe it's over, if after that they also don't show anything at the TGA after that I will truly believe it's over(but for real this time)

>>526463948I hope his game dies in less than a month.
And that's enough for me! Thanks to everyone that came tonight.
Hope I get to fly it in the next game.
>>526469529Pretty sure the Switch port was relegated to another studio that specialized in Nintendo hardware.
>>526469529I don't believe one bit of that, all the major DLC were finished by 2020. A 1/15th of the team could have done the rest of the DLC by themselves. No way they were doing fuck all and staring at the ceiling until 2023.
Honestly I think TGS is our best bet for AC8 reveal. Now if we could have that and then From reveals some kind of DLC or a sequel Armored Core 6 at the Game Awards later this year, I'd probably die of hype.
>>526591152>No way they were doing fuck all and staring at the ceiling until 2023.It's an internal studio at Bamco. The devs would've been assigned to other projects. IIRC a lot of them were also credited on Code Vein.
"Project Aces" is just the name of the Bamco dev team that's making an Ace Combat game at any given point in time; who's actually on that team is malleable depending on what games are in development at Bamco.
>>526591617So, that's why Kono tweeted that Code Vein message. I guess even JP is starting to get up in arms about the lack of news.
>>526591469No way they'll let the 30th anniversary pass like that. It's not like 10 years ago where Kono didn't even know if he'd still be working for Bamco essentially.
I see nothing happened what a shame. Well then having no expectation paid off no let down.Disappointing but not let down so I shall keep waiting
That being said I wouldn't mind getting the X original planes as a free d/l along with 8's announcement to hold us over till its out. Yes I know mods exist but still.....

Here's a quick WIP, buddies. Sawed edges and camouflage to come later.
How come Strangereal is able to maintain the population to have massive WW2 scale wars every 3 years?
>>526659203no universal suffrage.
>>526659203State-mandated waifu/husbando
>>526659203no christianity to moralfag over mass manufactured vat grown babies
>>526659203Most of said wars only last 1 or 2 years instead of 6, and civilian casualties appear to be much lower.
>>526660809>zero carpet bombing mission and 7 nukes
>>526661841Those nukes somehow only killed 12000 people, so he's technically still right.
>>526660772each new pic of this thing makes me like it even more...
>>526661965Yeah, forgot they insta-retconned the dmg of 7 nukes.
>>526659203By not actually being WW2-scaled, and instead being usually limited to one country (or continent, at most) and a few months.
>but what about AC5Outside of Grey Men-orchestrated attacks, both the Yukes and the Oseans avoided major population centres in their operations, with the exception of Cinigrad (thinking that taking the enemy capital = war is over).
>but what about Hoffnung and the nukesThe nukes somehow killed 12k people, when 90k were killed in Hiroshima alone, and the perfectly conventional siege of Leningrad killed at least 1.3 million civilians. Hoffnung was the only city to receive the carpet bombing treatment (and even then, the fucking Belkans decided to one-up the Allies), while in WW2, almost every goddamn city with more than 100k inhabitants got a much worse treatment. Moreover, you must never forget that WW2 had an unimaginable number of atrocities deliberately committed against civilians even for a fucking laugh, and that's discounting the organised mass murder, the deliberate famines, and even the simple effects of looting - meanwhile, at most, atrocities in Strangereal seem to only happen out of a desire for revenge (Tyler Island, for instance).
>>526663101My personal headcanon for the only 12k dead is that they were detonated in a big mountain range and maybe there weren't a whole lot of people living up there to begin with, but deep down I know this is pretty much cope. You'd think that the only country that has ever actually gotten nuked would have a better idea on how devastating a nuclear attack actually is.
>>526664561Maybe they were only tactical scale nukes?
What's the deadliest war in Strangeral post-Ulysses anyway?
>>526664561>they were detonated in a big mountain rangeThat's basically what happened though
>>526665509The war of Banging Your Mom.
>>526667168That would be one of the most retarded ways of trying to use nukes for defense, detonating them in places that will minimize dmg to your enemy.
>>526667824Hey, I didn't write the game's plot.
Belka nuked the Waldreich Mountains while the Allies were besieging Sudentor to stall/disrupt the advancing forces, that's what the game says.
>>526667824Iโd like to think they were detonated at chokepoints to hinder movement
>>526667824creating radioactive no mans lands in specific chokepoints when your country is located inside a mountainous region doesnt seem stupid to me...
>>526665509I wouldn't be surprised if the Lighthouse War's post-satellite Usean thunderdome racked up a lot of collateral damage.
A lot of Strangereal's wars are quite quick and clean though.
>>526665509The simulation in AC3.
Particularly the ouroboros route. Tons of collateral, sunk a city sized ship, most likely collapsed geofront. At least 1 city set on fire.
>>526669138At least they have ocean access
Nothing at xbox either, I didn't expect it to be there but I watch all this gameshows anyway.
>>526667824There should have been more nukes. Also it was not really a strategic move, but more like a chimpout
>>526701065Stick with Smoker and you'll make it
>>526665509Probably the Belkan War, outside of the war itself taking a lot of lives 7 cities got nuked.
>>526714750>7 cities got nuked.it was only 12k deaths
>>526715030compared to what
>>526715195i'd call it a nobel prize-worthy humanitarian achievement to nuke 7 cities and kill only 12k people
>>526715030Yeah but we don't really get many numbers for the other conflicts. I suppose in terms of size the Circum-Pacific War could be up there considering how big the war was between the superpowers.
>>526714750Didnโt the Belkan war take place before the Ulysses impact?
Still insane that they ported AC5 to PS4 and made it a preorder exclusive. If thereโs no AC8 announcement for the anniversary itโd be nice if they at least gave us some way to buy it, itโs literally just sitting there behind bars
>>526667824It was more of a "Don't fucking try it" move than anything. If they actually went for maximum damage, the Oseans would have nuked them back.
>>526658308Looking sleek already, extending the white all around the cockpit was a nice touch. If you're doing camo and sawtooth it might be worth using dark shades and a simple pattern. Is the underside gonna be mirrored or all white like a shark belly?
>>526665509Estovakian Civil War?
>>526753212AI upscaling really fucks the shit out of image quality, never use it. Australian Meteor over... I'd say Melbourne?
>>526753667>If you're doing camo and sawtooth it might be worth using dark shades and a simple patternWill do, the contrast will be nice. I'll use the pattern seen in
>>526288204 for the time being.
>all white like a shark bellyThis, because the original inspiration was that Su-57 livery.
I was at RAF Cosford for an Air Show yesterday. Saw the TSR-2 at the museum, beautiful plane. Way bigger than I thought it would be, you really don't get the scale of planes from photos.
>>526766053That's how it is with all planes. I honestly think that growing up with Star Wars fucks up your perception of how big a fighter is supposed to be. You get familiar with the actual size of IRL fighter aircraft and suddenly the X-Wing looks like a kit-car because it's scaled to WW2 fighters.
>>526766053The stubby wings increase that perception, to the point where you even forget that the damn thing is even bigger than the F-111.
>>526769017Yeah, I think that's what got me. It's nearly as long and a few meters shorter than a B-1B. Absolute unit.
On a sidenote, there was an F-111 at Cosford too, that was a nice surprise.

>>526833962Put a Sabre or Mig-15\17 there instead then?
>>526833962The last time the F-5 was playable was over 10 years ago and it was a console exclusive, and everyone on this general cries that the F-16C sucks in Ace Combat 7 because it's a starter aircraft
>>526834287Boring old ahh boomerslop
Been playing Brew Barons lately. Cool game for enjoyers of planes and boats and combinations of the two, and also booze and the making thereof. They used AI for voices but the game was apparently made by like three people so for what it's worth it turned out pretty cool. A part of my brain craves some Ace Combat 3 level futuristic seaplane.
>>526828712I remember the company that made J-20/J-35 reached out to PA at one point. Fingers crossed. The more the merrier I'd say.
>>526667824Because it was supposed to be a barrier, that's what the dialogue directly says in Zero and in 5. South Belka was always the 'lesser'. In Zero the nuke line was a way of creating a no-man's land barrier, as North Belka was the 'Holy Land' to them. In 5 Edge mentions this also had the secondary effect of 'entombing themselves in the frozen wastes to the North.'
Went to NASA (Space Center Houston) today. I'm not sure if it's underwhelming or if I'm just spoiled already having been to a few spectacular air museums. Maybe I'm just not appreciating how cool it is to see a whole Saturn V.
Also these silly birds.

What waifu archetype are we going to get next in 8?
>>526846776>>526866512Imo, it is beyond unlikely that Js will be in the game unless they are made good guy planes. Cause china will definitely not like the player styling on them as the most common enemy type.
AC3 was the only game where we committed mass shootings of F-22\32s and the game had the "narrative structure" to allow that. We hardly get to shoot down 22\35s compared to any other lategame planes in pretty much all ACs. Funnily, i think the other F-series are overall also the largest plane series that gets shot down across the games, maybe even more than the SU (AH aside).
>>526826748An F-16 got shot down? Yikes man
>>526894959Idk even if Sukhois have been the vilain planes it doesn't really play into them being bad guy planes. People still like the 37,33, 30SM etc
>>526901537Iirc, ruskies didn't really care what happens to their planes in the game. My Mandela effect remembers it was argued for F-22 to get a "privileged" status starting with 4.
>>526901736Why would it be an issue if the plane was present in every game before that

>>526894959>We hardly get to shoot down 22\35s compared to any other lategame planesThere are way more F-22s than there are Su-57s in AC7, though

Reading an article on how we tried to control/modify hurricanes and came across this bit
>Stormfury's biggest mission would finally arrive in 1969. On 18 and 20 August, 13 aircraft were involved in five runs across Hurricane Debbie, including a Navy A-6 Intruder jet, which dropped 1,000 silver iodide canisters each day.
That time A-6's bombed the storm
Thats kind of metal hope they were playing some good music as they dove into the storm.
But back in good old 47 they did it by flying B-17's right into the hurricane to reach the eye.

Are there any pen and paper roleplaying games that can be used to emulate Ace Combat? I know TTRPGs aren't as popular in japan, but it seems like a lot of video game series eventually get a TTRPG adaption.
>>527074540I've been looking into trying to adapt the Pendragon RPG into an AC-style jet fighter pilot RPG. Not just because of Zero, I promise, but because I think many of its systems map quite well to the type of stuff I imagine you'd do and need represented in a fighter pilot game.
>Players, usually knights, have NPC squires that can do things both in and outside combat ---> your wingman/men>Combat is handled smoothly on two different scales; strategic (battles between armies and companies) and tactical (fights between squads and individuals)>Fights are not necessarily to the death; a knight is worth more alive as he can be ransomed>Beliefs and passions of individual knights are of great importance, they can and will affect their actions, positively and negatively>Themes of loyalty and service, of ideals and glory>Much focus on the keeping of one's estate and familyI think that attempting to represent modern jet combat in a pen-and-paper game will likely either result in something that is too cumbersome and complex to be fun, or too simple to properly sell you on the ace combat fantasy, especially if you play it very combat-heavy. Therefore, more focus should be put on the people and the narrative, and the lives of the pilots when on the ground, to bring the ace combat feel, and dogfights should be few but long, intense and impactful

>The Wedgetail is a mess>The Pegasus tanker can't get finished>NGAD was an overengineered cluster until USAF was told to tone it down>The Navy can't even start building the Constellation frigates because they keep adding stuff onto it>The M10 Booker is canned because it turned out to be an airborne light tank that was too heavy to air dropThis is outside of the dumb politics of the media. Eh what can I say I'm just aggravated and an idiot in pentagon just makes it worse every time he opens his mouth.
Now don't get me wrong Grumman does good work and they could do with a build more E-2 contracts hopefully they'll get the Navy F/X-XX contract too. This feels like a well we have them so we'll just go with that kind of choice.
Of course I also think Boeing needs a cleaning from top to bottom, hire new competent people and maybe after that they can become a good company again.
Yeah like I said aggravated all around.

>>527191552The U.S version. Granted I just dipped my feet into it, but the music isn't grabbing me and there's something about the general style right down to the UI that feels offputting somehow. I still intend to play it, but something about AC2's military / arcade gameplay vibe and the announcer voice and the music made me immediately pumped.
>>527196289The US version is the edited one that lacks well everything. Think of it as a bonus remixed 6th route. You should play the JP one first its much better
I say this even though back in 2000 this was the AC3 I played I put a ton of hours into it back then
As yes I had watched Ghost in the Shell not long before this came out and like the rest of the world was loving the cyberpunk feel and this game gave me that.
Remember AC 1 & 2 are 90's high octane arcade feel
AC3 either version 90's cyberpunk
>>527074540ACES (Release never)
>>527190767I don't blame you too much. It's an entirely different feeling from 2. 2 was 90s rock arcade boiled down to perfection with 3 minute mission and little story set to cool rock music. 3 is very story-heavy with a lot of lore thrown in and a soundtrack that usually makes you feel weird or creeped out.
3 is an excellent game, though I do find it weaker than the other main games. But I'd say go ahead on to 4 and come back to 3 when you're not doing much else. Going from 2 to 3 is extreme tonal whiplash.

>>527212693It's worth a shot when you're in the right mood for it. Maybe play something like Deus Ex first rather than AC2 or Zero.

>>527222182Think we'll get to see those Tomcats do something?
>>527222801We don't even know if they can still fly
But I expect the usual Israel has already made the strike. Now Iran will launch drones and missiles in the next 24 hours. Those will be blown out of the sky and after that we'll see if Iran backs down or if it wants to get smacked even harder over the weekend.
>>527222182That's how these things go
>>527222801Not likely; if the Iranian IADS didn't even catch them there wouldn't be time for any jets to scramble. But apparently this may be a multi-day thing, so who knows.
I'd be satisfied with a small nuclear war.
>>527223173Yep that how it works
Kind of funny in a way I took an F-15 on the mision while IRL F-15's were lobbing missiles at Iran
It looks like it'll be a multi day thing as an IDF guy was just saying in a public announcement this was the first wave of the attack. They are serious out ending Iran nuclear program this time. Which is a good Iran with the bomb is bad news for everyone.
Now if B-2 take flight we won't know till later also if you check flight radar you should see the airspace of Israel and Iran start to empty out as they have both closed their airspace. Expect that flight corridor across Iraq to empty out as well as it would put them right in the path of attacks.
>>527223295Samson Option will do just fine
Come to think of it F-35-chan might get to add ship kills to her tally by Monday
Checking flight radar right now you see everyone using the Iraq corridor has cleared out as fast as possible and everyone else has already changed course to go a longer way. Expect for that one poor plane from Malaysia Airlines who is in a holding pattern at the Turkish broader as they can't figure out what to do.
>>527225845>Expect for that one poor plane from Malaysia AirlinesBRB short selling MASM
>>527214847>Kono would do well to keep things "grounded".that very grounded part of the massive space elevator, intercontinental railgun battery, mass drivers for permanent flying drone bases, lasers, forcefields, etc etc
>>527227868It is a measure of grounded, in a few ways. It's hard to really explain in broad strokes but Ace Combat is a little like Metal Gear in that it found a good mix of realistic and sci-fi, and the tone of the game is worked around that. If it went too far into like future war tech stuff I would probably lose interest, though if it lost the fantastical parts it wouldn't be Ace Combat either. It also has the Metal Gear idea that there's not a ton of these superweapons but they can be beaten conventionally by a good pilot and plane, same as how the big nuke robot can be beaten by guy with gun.
>>527084615Spare Squadron was more memorable for me than Strider. I hope Bandog made it out ok.
>>527090384It's in full service in its native Australia and American AWACS crew who have had a look at it have had nothing but praise for the design. I see the damn things flying about all the time, usually followed shortly after by F-35s.

>>527560810>deadlines and money being shoveled into a projectThose are just assumptions you've made to rationalize your anxiety.
>>527561545Because, after Ace Combat 7 sold all its copies, Namco just completely forgets about Ace Combat and doesn't ask for another game, which, by industry standards, take about 2-3 years to make nowadays (for something that's not massive in size), even brings in a whole support studio for this sequel and still nothing got announced.
The only pulse we have is the VA leak and the listing saying the game would be out 2025, but that's sort of like extrapolating the entirety of AC7 having a smooth dev cycle because of the 2015 cinematic.
>>527563243nta but Bamco didn't know whether 7 would be successful relative to its dev budget (remember how much dev hell it was in and how they needed a big team of outside engineers to unfuck it) so it's understandable they wouldn't have greenlit a sequel right away.
Bandai Namco Aces was only formed 3 years ago, so you can assume that's when full recruitment and development started. Take into account how much work went into 7, and that they'll need to work on UE5 and next-gen consoles, and that after 7's Switch port Bamco might be stupid enough to want a Switch 2 port of 8, it's not insane that they haven't announced anything yet after how much 7 got pushed back and almost cancelled.
>>527563887>UE5 and next-gen consolesThe massive Unreal push is certainly a contributing factor. In a practical and technical sense they could absolutely create a game more impressive and complex than AC7 with UE4. But it is all-but forbidden for a big publisher or anyone with a marketing budget to not use the latest shitty engine.
>>527525491Your insolence is forgiven because your image has a cool paint job, nice colors. The large camo pattern and muted blueish greens of the french camo style is nice.
Feel like it's also worth noting that pretty much ALL industry video games take several years to make now for whatever reason. We're also staring down the barrel of a slow (and deserved) industry-wide crash as the games become fewer, worse, and more expensive. That's probably going to affect development. Frankly if Ace Combat just stuck to around A or AA quality and even restricted releases to just PC I'd be fine with it. The rest of the industry is just burning down around them.
>>527576094If anything Ace Combat would restrict itself to console, not PC
>>527576094Itโd kinda suck if the high sales of AC7 means that Bamco expects the next one to be a blockbuster and are over investing into it
>>527582398>are over investing into itThey kinda are now that PA is a legit studio with them merging with ILCA and shit. And with how long AC8 has been in development now, I'd reckon Bamco are expecting big with it.
I liked this part of Anchorhead Raid
>>527559807>current game development sphereThis isn't new or ''current'', has been the case 'always'. If anything, projects these days have a better chance of being salvaged because potential customers can show support in real time and there is wayyy more transparency in the industry than ever before.
>>527576094>le video game industry le bad now!The industry is providing way better experiences for gamers these days than in the years past, you're completely delusional.
>>527618881>there is wayyy more transparency in the industry than ever before. The transparency of having your entire project shelved with no notice and being notified by a third party twitter post saying you've been laid off that, you have been in fact fired? That sort of transparency?
The first part of your reply, sure, I'm willing to believe it's always been: shit.
The second part, maybe, I'm inclined into not really but sure, I'm willing to believe that. But saying there is more transparency is ignorant at best and malicious at worst.
>>527618881Way better experiences?
You talk like an E3 stage host more than an actual person. Illustrate what these better experiences are, please.
