Is there a place to see the player counts of DR and DDON? I know DDON is more apparently but this will influence my decision on which to play. I wont mind DR if its slightly less.

>>526094943Dogma Rising has significantly less players for sure, enough to play with others mind you, but the amount of players is quite different between the servers, it's what happens when you try to start another server while the other already established server becoma the "default" server because it was there first, you even have youtubers and streamers openly recommending ddon.org because well, it's the most popular one.
I don't know how much time you actually intend to invest in this game, but I think you should consider Dogma Rising even with its small playerbase, the balance is far better and the admin is actually open to feedback from players, in the long run it will be a much better experience, hell, it is already a better experience, take this from someone who played on ddon.org for 4 months and decided to switch to Dogma Rising even though that meant starting a new character.
We have a clan on Dogma Rising and play together from time to time, so at least there's that, if you want to play solo or with randoms only occasionally, you can do that just fine on Dogma Rising too, specially solo play since the progression is a lot smoother and enjoyable.
That being said, here's the current amount of players in each server, as you can see, ddon.org is a lot more popular.

I've just finished this quest, for those who are unaware, you have to go into mine and open a gate so that merchants have a short cut. That is the job.
However the mines are inhabited by

>some undead people

I think in theory you only "need" to fight the bandits for being in your way but like a good murder hobo I killed everything in there. The Ogers were really something. They have a normal life bar but tank a lot more than an Cyclops with his 3-4 bars.
The first Oger made a strong impression by dropkicking the whole party through a door frame.
But I wonder if anything would change if I didn't kill all the monsters? Probably not because they will all respawn in a few days anyway.

One is a mix of Thief and Warrior with either a Greataxe that is much faster than Greatsword or Dual Wielding Axes. Like a Berserker or Barbarian.
The last a Necromancer type class. You get some basic but limited melee and curses dots and some summons. You can only use your own pawn with this.
Warfarer is also getting a rework which is similar to the Dulahan Mod. You get 3 skills equipped per weapon, but you can only get the class in NG+ to make up for it's increased power.
Rushing to save Ser Gregor from the Dullahan is pure, unadulterated kino.

I've meet my first wildlife dragon, I thought he was stuck in the trees so I expected him to be an easy kill but when I did shot him he wasn't stuck anymore and I didn't do any damage so I ran away.
I did also reached level 7 on the strider and got the arm strength augment that I wanted. Now I don't know what I want to keep playing as. I could switch over to the Ranger because I do like the bow even tho I miss a lot of shots or if I find a fat mage pawn I could go back to playing as a warrior.

DD2 news had its own livestream, not tied to Capcom events or SGF events.
Meaning, If the pattern continues, only after they have made an announcement on stream will it get trailers at Playstation Showcase of whatever year before it comes out. It took one year after the DD2 livestream to get a Playstation Showcase trailer, and one year after the trailer to get the game. If we get a DLC announcement this June, then DLC will likely be 2026/2027.

I'm completly back in the hype, I will do some killquest for sulfur Lizards and direwolfs today (because I already found their spots and I have no clue where the catacombs are (dont tell me)) as well as some scavenging in the witchwoods. I'm not sure if I make my pawn a strider or ranger now, I think strider would fit him better but ranger got the better stat gains. I think we will both be Rangers for a while before he becomes a strider and my MC becomes a magic archer.
I also have to take a look at the Inclination, I never put any thought into that before.

DD2 is one of my favorite games of all time and I'm grateful we got a sequel in the first place even if it's half baked. Games don't exist in a void, they're funded with the purpose of making a certain amount of money in a limited amount of time and the fact that this one reached my hands in its current state is already a small miracle. Maybe the smartest approach would have been to slap some new graphics on top of the original Dragon's Dogma core and focus on more content, but I appreciate that they scrapped that idea and went through the effort of altering the feeling of the game drastically instead, by leaning on physics and weighty animations specifically. That was a bold choice, and it's fair to critique it, but what we got is one of those rare games where you're able to stun a large monster with your weight by just landing on top of it after jumping from a great height. You can grab an enemy and sprint towards a wall and your character will slam it against it, that kind of realism is refreshing in a fantasy setting. It's a unique fantasy sandbox, I can just boot it for an hour or so and hire some pawns and run around with them and something cool will happen every time and I'll be satisfied. I could be living in a world without this game right now, so I'm happy that's not the case.

What I would have done is take note from other recent games that launched to mixed reception but managed a comeback.
People are still asking about is performance fixed, why? Because it wasn't really advertised that it was.
People are worried about MTX here but not with other Capcom games, why? Because less people are familiar with DD.
Announce a DLC that releases later.
Make a separate engoodening package that has some sort of new content, removes the MTX and gives them for free to everyone (people that had purchased them get -$% from the DLC).
Show gameplay running the game at launch vs now.
Make the free new content tiny bits everywhere like one or two more armors, one more reskinned enemy, hard mode with a reward, board quests with special monster spawns. Effort, but doable within six months.

Game recognized something changed and reset a lot of other settings (and rebuilt cache of course), but kept DLSS as "Auto" with no way to turn it off. Solution was to turn it off from the ini.
