Aside from my close family (parents and siblings) plus my Grandparents I have no contact with any of them. My Grandad from my Dad's side passed away last year and my other Grandad has dementia and is not doing so well.
My close family is doing alright considering. I have pretty much never had a serious falling out (nothing that we havent fixed swiftly) with my brother and we've been best friends for most of our lives. I don't get along too well with my Mum but I do get along with my Dad whilst my brother gets along better with Mum. Things are pretty good these days between us even if during my childhood it was a very different story. I don't want to hold grudges against family or friends if I can help it.

Well, that'll be true when I get some help to choose those sprite<->emotion pairing. I'd need to have someone use Say Something and the official sprite codes thingy for a while

oh yeah, the sprite code things are a fucking nightmare to do. it took me like 2 hours to make a little submod with 10 lines of dialogue. all because of the sprite codes. something like 90% of combinations dont even exist, so you just get an error in the game and your Monika's face ceases to exist while she is outputting the nonexistent sprite. maybe ask around on the MAS reddit? i know you use that a lot. im sure some submod maker would be happy to help you. also, i think there is a database of a bunch of emotions and sprite codes that go along with them, but i dont know where it is. think it is on github.

By the way, since I finished both chapters, I can say that they were really good - it's maybe less of that sense of wonder I had in the beginning, but the story advanced in really interesting ways. Gameplay-wise, I feel that the battles are getting stale, but the chapters seem to be shifting more towards overworld minigames, and those are great. Going for the Chapter 3 secret boss was absolute fucking kino - it very much reminded me of a moment in Zelda Link's Awakening where you go kinda off-script and discover a dark secret about the world.
