In answer to both, just making it multiplayer is a good start, that already puts it ahead of half the update content thus far.
They've also got a bunch new tute quests since launch, I'm pretty sure the ult bunny one gives you a bunch of catalysts and an UBunny with a half dozen catas and a free mushroom should see people through most of what the game offers. As long as it isn't some void erosion tier bullshit.


Me, though, I've got a wild idea: A game mode where you can't use abilities and only blue guns are allowed. That'd be be engaging for both new and old players, I reckon.

Yes. You have two routes

Amorphs (obtained from dungeons) that are opened with Colossus Intercept Battles
Amorphs (obtained from outposts OR dungeons) that are opened with Reactors.

Ultmate Sharen has an unique crafting component that is only obtainied from...I think twwo specific dungeons? So you will need to spam those too in addition to getting your AMorphs of choice

I've been thinking about outposts. Yeah 5 minute wait timer sucked and having only one character for them also sucked, but what if every outpost had a different character gimmick?

Like maybe Kingston could be a speed racing course around the colosseum for Bunny, Echo Swamp could require hacking for Enzo here and one time big burst damage for Esiemo there, Agna could have some flying challenges for Kyle and maybe their own burst thing, white Night could have some NPC revivals for Yujin here and obstacles you gotta teleport past for Valby there, Hagios might need some pressure pads you need players or turrets on for Jayber, and maybe Fortress could have a teminal you have to defend with one needing cover from ranged artillery for Ajax and one needing to slow an otherwise hardened enemy for Viessa. And Lepic gets a challenge to suck everyone into a circle somewhere. And Sterile land, yeah, that could be Sharen’s and her cloaking stuff.

Not sure what I’d give Gley / Freyna in Vespers, but the point is it could have been so much more than just cloak shit every time.

It’s one of the best guns in the game and can carry you through pretty much anything, not a bad idea to just get it early instead of grind for it. Secret garden is also pretty crucial for descendants like freyna and viessa and Ines which are still some of the strongest characters

As of now, Vindictus is still in alpha, and my last hands-on experience with Mecha Break was during February's beta test. On the other hand Vindictus still have a lot of room for improvement and they can really go even further beyond if they can get around the +18 age rating.

Crit build is doable if you want to build for gun, for an example maybe check MeiMei's latest void erosion guide for Valby (although it might not be up to date for 30s).
Gun crit build is not relevant for bossing anymore now bubble spam is the meta. If you've got a big enough Malevolent or Dagger it'll work but then so does Jayber at that point, Valby crit was more a product of the Legacy / Cage / Tamer meta (I just remembered Tamer meta was a thing... I miss Tamer meta days).

Skill crit build is also doable, but since peak Valb is spamming all day the MP regen might be preferable.
As for what Red Mod to use, water play is becoming very popular for general mobbing. The big puddle jump is also popular, and I've seen the anti Gluttony get use though I can't vouch for it myself.
I suspect singing might be good specifically for spec ops, but I haven't gotten around to check - waiting for the mass of catalysts needed to get her to 60 possibly later this month (although I might actually do Viessa first, and Valby another month).
Tidal wave is largely irrelevant with puddle jump as an option.

Reactor is probably NA Fusion, though Dimension might be a better economically purely because there's a bunch of non attribute dimension characters it can fit on.

I'm not deep enough in the Valby reeds to tell you for certain that amp Valby beats out supply moisture crit valby for overall skill damage, but amp Valby bullet spam already kills everything outside of void erosion in a second or two; using extra crit mods and cutting your MP regen to maybe do a bit more damage on enemies that already die instantly seems detrimental.

I'll maybe spreadsheet out the answer to your question later, but for now I'd recommend the amp build.

If you haven't played the genre just keep away and watch their attack patterns. There's always a gap for you to punish at the end of an attack pattern in these games. Specific to Fiona you can just stay close, block and counter poke everything to deal consistent damage, throw your early skill points towards improving that skill for the easiest time probably. You can also use an interrupt skill to stop a pattern you don't like and steal back the momentum (shield bash and charge are both interrupts for Fiona.)

I have spreadsheeted three different Valby builds: vanilla, supply moisture and water play. Supply is using dimesnions spec and the crit mods, the other two are using power increase and the amp mods, and all are using focus on fusion.

Supply moisture is about 30% more damage than vanilla. It also uses two more mods and requires you to be on water and cuts your MP regeneration.
There is potential to hit an enemy multiple times with the supply moisture build if you can overlap a single cast's puddles with enough range, but that takes some precision and again you have to be on the puddles to have the benefits so you'll be losing damage by jumping backwards getting the right velocities, or is location dependent on getting a nice wall to bounce off of, or the enemy is colossus sized.
You can also get more damage by bursting the bubble on someone after a bunch of bubbles, but getting a max bounce bubble hit consistently is tricky if the enemy isn't colossus sized.

Water play, meanwhile, is almost double the damage of the crit skill build per puddle, with lower cooldown and increased potential range to 300%. And you don't have to worry about terrain or velocity or anything, you just throw it in the general range of your enemy. BUT you can't stack puddles, which is relevant against huge targets that eat shit against that.

So, to summmarize, Supply Moisture is superior damage against something like a colossus if you aren't bad, and Water Play all day everywhere else.

Oh, but I guess there's also the caveat that plop plop and clean up (the dimension skills) get more benefit from a crit build than a fusion amp build, obviously. Or even a dimension amp build, especially since you won't have to spam, although I haven't done the math on STW or bomb builds to see if they'd beat out supply moisture. But anyway, if you wanted to use every ability like a weirdo, SM is the way to go.

Personally I think TFD looks better, the aesthetic is more refined and tasteful.
In vindictive it’s just cheap trashy coin dialed up to 11, and while I can understand that appeal, TFD is a refreshing counterbalance.
