You don't need your tamers to match your mons at all. For example, in a Leomon deck, most of your mons are going to be green, yellow, and/or black, but the main tamer for Leomon decks is Juri, who is blue, but the option card Fist of the Beast King is also blue, so most of the time unless you have a Panjyamon out, you'll need a Juri out to actually use it. Furthermore, a lot of more modern option cards have a clause along the lines of "So long as you control a [Keyword] card, ignore this Option Card's color requirements"
