I have been watching FoxyNoTail's "Create 2" series. It is shit. Everything is very formulaic, down to the very block vomit. He might revise a build once, but never after putting contraptions in it. Consequently, the layouts make little sense, tend to be cramped, and he uses storage trim & chain drives for everything. I'd really kind of expect someone who plays Create basically professionally to know how to power a 90° belt turn, and his repeated incompetence in this matter is disappointing. His titles & thumbnails are clickbait garbage, and his videos are too long. He writes mods, including one for the series, which is zased.
His "Just Create SMP" series is much better.

>>527017269Get a fortune 3 pick nerd. I've got literal stacks of blocks of zinc sitting around doing nothing. Copper even worse, I'm not mining that shite at all, it's completely pointless. >>527017269Bleh, infinite automatable resources is my que to turn on cheats and spawn a barrel/chest full to the brim with infinite stacks of whatever resource. >>527022876I totally get that but I’d love to not have to worry about really basic ores being a finite resource. especially when you’re using them by the thousands for builds.

Monifactory: is my napkin math a long way off or is the real benzene power option actually making charcoal with benzene on the side, because of how jacked steam generators are
NEI doesn't give numbers but if steel boilers are ~an overclock equivalent to bronze then you get 72k EU/charcoal (at 900 EU/t in steam) for no extra processing vs 8-12k EU (forget the number) for the equivalent in benzene minus your extraction/distillation costs
and a bit over half your benzene comes from the charcoal so the total from benzene wouldn't been come close

>>526850458this is just a major skill issue, botania is very easy to automate without cheating if you have more than two brain cells
>>527035513>is it not?No, in base Create the only way to get zinc without ore is by crushing tuff or asurine. You wouldn't even need an addon for it, just add some recipe to make either of those. Maybe andesite+stone in mixer = tuff for example.
Alternatively there's Create Copper & Zinc which adds recipes for Asurine and Veridium which crush into zinc and copper respectively, which would also be nice since they're cool building blocks that are kind of annoying to find and dig up

https://files.catbox.moe/q170tf.zip
Here's a little datapack that adds recipes for tuff, crimsite, ochrum, veridium, and asurine.
Based on existing datapack but debloated unnecessary stuffs and tweaked the recipes to better fit base create.
I've tested it on the serbpack and there was no issue
I have barely used villagers since they were introduced. I don't even know how you can exploit them, and in the modpacks I played with other people (TOYMY and premade) I never bothered to interact with the, cuz others did the trading for me. >>527041908Villagers get jobs from certain blocks, their jobs determine their trades. Generally people get farmer villagers to trade crops with, tool and armorsmiths who can trade diamond armor and tools, and librarians who can sell any enchanted book. This allows you to essentially convert crops into maxed out diamond gear with minimal effort. It gets worse when you realize you can allow villagers to be turned to zombies, then cure them for a permanent, heavy discount on their trades. The conversion can get to the point when a carrot = a diamond chestplate.

personally I think it's better to provide a moderate complexity recipe for small quantities of unlimited metals (the same way iron and gold are), and let people scale it up as needed for their use cases. it encourages more building, and gets people interacting with create and making their own builds and integrating it into their bases. I also vastly prefer those recipes over giant bore holes all over the world

is the perfect solution to the ore question, it makes you set up remote mining and refinery operations that you can then ship back home
So how about something like this?
It's consistent with andesite recipe, lets you turn extra iron or gold into you dig up to nice building blocks, which makes colored deco bricks practical for large builds.
Also every recipe is a net loss so no infinite loop nonsense.

>>527294917>the pulsar sends 80 items into the pipe before they reach the end and turn the signal offThat's very slow, unless you're talking massive distances then you might be using the wrong kind of pipes- you should use golden transport pipes like booster tracks to make the items speed up, then a low drag pipe like quartz pipes afterwards to coast along. Or if you can afford it then just full golden pipes. Regardless, if you're already using autarchic gates and lasers then you shouldn't really be using stone or cobblestone pipes any more.
Another option is to slow down how fast items are removed from the inventory: use an autarchic AND gate set to "pipe signal = energy pulser, pipe empty = energy pulser", then it will only activate when both conditions are met, so whenever items are requested it will send out something like 2 items every 5 seconds. If that's still too fast: use the same gate configuration on a standard iron gate activating a redstone engine, then it will be about 1 item every 5 seconds.
>>527294917>>527305058Oh yeah, and for more general cases: use insertion transport pipes whenever possible, that will attempt to put the items into the attached storage (chest, machine, etc), and if it can't fit in then it will continue in the next direction (but not go backwards).
So here is the back of the overflow section of my storage system, items come in from the right, then hits the purple (insertion) pipe, it attempts to put the item into the chest, and if the chest is full then it goes to the left, tries to put it in that chest, then the next chest, then round the corner where there's more chests. So unless everything is completely full then items will never pop out onto the ground. I do the same with machines: anything that requests items will have an overflow path where it gets sent back to my storage system, so worst case scenario I just end up with items looping around until I notice them, rather than getting dumped somewhere.
>>527305058yeah i just figured something like that

Anyone know why I would get way more fps in single player than multiplayer?
Dedicated server running on decent hardware for it, ubuntu server.
I had a mod conflict error out a chunk generation so I copied the world to my PC to troubleshoot. Its a heavy pack so I didn't think much of the 60ish with spikes up in better areas and down in worse. Crumby but I'm not use to heavy modded performance to realize it shouldn't be that. Same map in singleplayer was at 300 fps and steady on, Mint desktop.
Network overhead can't possibly be tanking fps down to a 1/5th from 300 to 60. I'm baffled to where to begin to figure this one out.
Well looked up how to get creative flight in stoneblock 3, had to get things from the project e mod. Shit's crazy overpowered
>>527335473Is the server over the internet rather than on LAN? It could be a mod doing something synchronously... but it'd be a dumb thing to do and it'd have to be obscure for nobody to notice. If this is the case then disabling the internet would boost your FPS until the session closes. But probably some profiling would be the way to go.

-Cobwebs
-Engine Silencers
--Claims adjustments
-Boats cannot be placed in server claims
-Water buckets cannot be placed in server claims
-Chorus fruit does not teleport you in server claims
-Ender pearls still function in server claims (I think its fair, I will design future dungeons with awareness of this functionality)
-All furniture is now useable in server claims, you can sit, turn on lamps, change curtain states with and empty hand.

The Ancient City portal? It now leads to a 1.1.2 dimension. Moving through this dimension should be faster that using the Nether so I dunno, we'd be at 1:10 blocks?
Now what I'd like to do, is make the Warden spawn there. Even during the day. And sometimes three at a time. When undisturbed you'd see it planting flowers.
I want Iron Golems to be there too, but they would be hostile to the player.
I may also cherrypick some Alex's Mobs mobs to spawn there.
And on top of that I'd like Distant Friends and The Man From the Fog to only spawn in this dimension, because I think it'd be funny.
You can travel back to the overworld by creating a portal using 1.1.2 Stone. Bring some back and you'd be able to create portals to 1.1.2 from anywhere in the overworld.
And for a laugh, bring some netherrack to the 1.1.2 dimension. Build a portal with it. Boum, you're in Indev Hell.
I just want the player to experience a tiny sidequest and be rewarded with a faster transportation method (without using Waystones like a faggot.) The mobs would only be there to give the feeling that something isn't quite right.
Thoughts?

>>527550095I think there will be a double line coming in to your station. As your island is probably the end of the line, a little loop is all that's needed, no intersections or anything. The train tracks we're using do need a a fairly wide radius to turn. Grab yourself half a stack of wide train tracks if you want to get a feel for the spacing (of any colour you like, most of the line is andesite wide track).
I'd suggest keeping it to one platform something like this image here. That way you don't have to cross the track to get to the platform. The trains in motion can be dangerous and they've certainly racked up some player kills.
>>527665296If that is the case, should I just go ahead and put the station on my continent? If it's going to be the last station for now. I was kinda conflicted on where to put it honestly
>>527665296I thought about placing the entire building on a raised platform like this...Whattya think? I want people to still be able to sit inside of the station and not be too far from the train when it rolls up.
>>527666094Sure why not man. For the train to be useful, your station should be in a place easily accessible to you. Furthermore, any visitors will appreciate not having to walk potentially hundreds of blocks to actually reach the place they want to go. The closer to your base, the better really so long as the aesthetics don't clash. Ideally the tracks would cross the sea and swing southwest into a tunnel to pass under the mountains too, but that's a significant additional engineering effort.
If you decide to go for this you'll need to make a second bridge for the tracks so that's something to consider. To fit both tracks would require a bridge deck at minimum 11 blocks wide.
>>527671950I think it is a good idea to raise it, yes. Most train stations are raised a little. Or you could sink the track into the ground a little.
>>527671950Most buildings should have some kind of a foundation.
>>527672076Ok, I think I'm gonna put it on my continent. BUT, I'll need to build a second bridge for the other track...And also possibly modify the design to accommodate the train/tracks
>>527675823put it just off the side of the foot bridge and down 5 or 6 blocks, will look really good.
>>527676469Something like this?
>>527675823Each train is 5 blocks wide and up to about 6 blocks tall (including the track itself). It's not STRICTLY necessary to have two bridges... The tracks can temporarily merge to a single line just before the bridge deck, and split again on the other side. Keeping the existing bridge for pedestrians and adding another for trains would be my recommendation. It's up to you whether you prefer a single or double width bridge deck (~7 or ~13 blocks wide).
Since you are very skilled with copycat blocks I would love to see you design your own train at some point in the future, or at least a carriage of some type.

Eelis cut down that 7+ days of streaming videos into 6 hours which is more manageable, that's how I found out about him and after seeing it I decided to go back and watch the full thing.

>>527890984>7 days in-game time.Just realised this is terrible phrasing. I mean he was streaming for like 168 hours.
>>527890984At least he has the recipe book. There are a shit ton of recipes you'd never know about if you didn't have that.
Didn't someone else also do this, maybe CN or JP? A few years ago, not sure if they had the recipe book at the time (but probably).
>>527889454Alright, I like the look of this. Been a decent harvest with the levelling, didn't take very long but I got distracted looking at things. Have a good one /mmcg/.
>be digging for Ancient Debris
>be stuck there for a while
Weird how there are no underground Nether mobs and as far as I recall no mod that adds mobs specificallt for the underground portion of the Nether.
>>527899630That's because there is no nether "underground" because the entire thing is underground.
You're asking why there are no difference passive mob spawns at y 60 vs y 200.
where the hell is the config that makes the chisel unbreakable in gtnh
>just use bloo bloo bloo bloo bloo
no
any terraria-esque/ripoff modpacks that might also work with TFG?
>>527901538what if I ditch the TFG compatibility?
TFMG 1.0 is out. It's supposed to be a complete do-over of the mod. The changelog just says "everything has changed" because of course the mod is made by literal children. Anyone played with it yet to see what's new?

It took over a week and my entire supply of sand (electron tubes, fertiliser, metals, pipes, and a glass observation deck), but my new tree farm is finally ready to go.
>>527906618... assuming this absolute labyrinth of pipes and gates are set up correctly. The water definitely works, but it should even automatically request dirt and fertiliser as needed, and send all the wood upstairs to my storage system.
>>527903313really? no one's made a good terraria-esque mod in a decade and a half?
>>527907027it just doesnt turn out right. minecraft combat cant really do what you can in terraria.
>>527906618>>527906830I miscounted the sizes lmao
>>527907027Terraria shit doesn't translate well into 3D.
>>527907227>>527907812doesn't need to have amazing combat (the combat is arguably terraria's weakest aspect, it's everything surrounding it and leading up to it that's good), just the whole gameplay loop
>>527911119Then you know what to do, good luck dude.
>>527911119>the combat is arguably terraria's weakest aspect?? combat is pretty much the best part of terraria. if all you're looking for is the gameplay loop of mine ores -> process ores -> build something -> fight boss
then there are certainly expert packs out there that are like that. i can't think of any though.
>>527911472haha no I'd rather shoot myself than learn java
>>527911582for me it's the weakest part. the bosses are great, the weapons are great, the armor set gimmicks are great, the accessories are great
but actually fighting the bosses is the same exact experience more or less every time, everything can be beaten by just circle strafe-jumping with platforms+hook in the early game and wings post hardmode
FINALLY found one of these caves, kinda neat looking
>>527914571The train bridge is significantly cheaper without all the extra Copycat pieces on top, not too bad.
>>527893686yeah, japanese man did it completely blind
