A lot of modern control hate stems from people believing that it is the wrong way to learn or takes away skill that should be REQUIRED to play. It's a simplified onboarding ramp that lets you skip past the execution part of learning and go straight to other skills like neutral, pressure, defence, whiff punishing or hit confirming.

That being said a lot of people who hate it just use it as a way to look down on others or justify their losses to someone who uses modern as "They're not playing real Street Fighter" or something like that.

I think the city builder mode I have as part of the campaign in GigaMaidens will be fun in of itself, there's a population and growth management aspect to it, but you can set it to auto-build if you don't want to customize the city. Adding motions in means you have to rebalance a lot of things.
You have to include some reason to use the motion inputs, so that means you either need to add a damage/meter bonus to motions like DNF Duel did or you need to do some thing to make easy inputs worse.

If it weren't for the button and damage reduction in SF6 on Modern, no one would play Classic.
You get instant SPD with 1 button, better reaction attacks, et cetera.

So now Motions will either be tacked on and do nothing or potential busted, depending on what they do.

This will heavily alter the game and anyone that actually plays fighting games at a high level understands this.

This sounds like a PCB issue. You may need a new PCB altogether. Don't know if they can just repair those.
The way these things work is that a signal is being sent to the board from the buttons. But if it's pressing things even when there is no button wired to it, then the board itself is malfunctioning.
With proprietary sticks like that, you will often need to take the board out altogether, get a new one, then put in some new buttons to restore functionality that replace the now unusable proprietary buttons.
But maybe you can just buy another Qanba PCB, not sure.
If you can solder things, this is easier, but if you don't know how to solder/desolder, then your options are more limited.

Modern Controls was a big hit in Japan and even in NA its pretty frequently used pre Diamond. And about a month ago some dude that tracks control scheme usage showed Modern controls is even growing in usage since last year which he didn't suspect would be the case. And it's probably the case with the switch 2 release that the Modern population is probably even bigger now.

The point is there is an audience for simple inputs but they have to be more than just a unserious, sauceless, button mashing, assist feature for beginners. This is the key reason why every iteration pre SF6(Stylish mode) and even after(Smart Controls) has had no where near the amount of success as Modern in SF6. The Capcom devs fundamentally understood the beginner using Modern is going to grow with time and that Modern has to be more than it's baseline experience to maintain appeal.

The 2XKusO crew is probably taking so long to just finish the game proper because in their minds they want to have it out to where it can be let out into the wild as a F2P model.
