Someone explain to me if Kris is evil or not. In the normal, pacifist route, he seems to be in some sort of conspiracy with the Knight and/ or Carol which goes against the interests of most people (creating the dark worlds, causing the roaring, kidnapping a police officer, etc.) and the only reason why he acts more or less "nice" is because we are controlling him most of the time. Yet, in the weird route, if WE act against the interests of most people (raping noelle both mentally and physically, killing the bird, etc.) Kris STILL seems to oppose us to some degree.
So is he evil but not evil enough to be happy about us committing genocide? I really don't get his character.

In Undertale he was just an unquestionably good guy who's clinically depressed and sometimes a troll. He was a really boring dude carried mostly by being a mysterious character with shit going on behind the scenes(+ being carried by hype moments and aura)
In Deltarune he's a dick in a way that's unlikeable and Kris genuinely hates him. It's a breath of fresh air from all the fan interpretations that make him angsty or sexyman-evil. It's cool that he's just allowed to suck and be a hatesink for the players.

Did anyone else get the impression that Susie's attempted suicide in the past? Her room looks like this, a chair in the middle, when you look at the blood stain in your room, she instantly knows how to clean up blood, her family never asked about her or seemed to be looking for her when she doesn't come home, and she vehemently wants to go to Kris' house instead of hers after ch4. At the start of ch1 she seems like she's a lot more self-destructive, and has an extremely worse self-image, but afterwards she seems like she's actually got a spark lit under her.

Asgore without authority, without the sympathy of having been put in the worst possible job and making the hardest possible choices, is no longer endearing, but sad and pathetic.
Sans, without the massive burden of knowledge and power, is just a trolly bastard without much of a moral compass.
Conversely, Undyne without her blind human hatred is just a renowned chief of police, and Alphys, without the bodies stacked beneath her labyrinth is just an innocent, kinda cringy school teacher.
It completely inverts the feel around certain characters while keeping true to their personality. I fucking hated, HATED Alphys in Undertale, completely ambivalent to her in DR. As for Asgore, I like the role he played in Undertale as the sympathetic "I do this because I must" Villain, and here, he's just fucking sad. Here's hoping ch 5 does him justice.
