If I want to present stats about an enemy but it's supposed to be a range, not the exact figure, how can I devise a range to present so that the player can't guess how it was derived? Just randomizing it is a problem because then it'd be different every time or I have to store some random value to calculate it.

I was able to take my 2 minutes combat into a 10 minutes now gameplay.
What I found funny now was this is literally like making a song.
The combat is just the same as a small section in a sonata.
Each dungeon repeated is like another section.
Both the combat and dungeon and the victory screen points section are like the ABC of the first melody repetition.
And then repeating it 3 times create a melody.
What I now have is a melody.
This means I now need to create a newer section.
This means I need now to do something like change the dungeon, to make ABABCC sonata section.
Which means that creates a bigger sonata movement section, and I can use the same rules to create bigger sections, up to the point where I have 4-6 hours of gameplay.

If there's anything I particularly want to comment on, it's the font. For some reason it appears anti-aliased. Also you're using a font when you could just draw the text you want into the assets, which might look better and more stylized for the menus (where the text always remains the same)
But anyway it's fine you don't have to focus too much on this stuff right now, but of course keep it in mind because it would ruin the illusion of being an oldschool style game.

In last half a year I started learning blender and 2D drawing without any prior experience to make some assets. This is base human model in blender I work on in recent weeks. Hands and feet are not connected since I made those in separate files. Need to tweak it since subdivision smoothed out some edges I wanted to retain and some shapes have been lost. Not completely happy with topo here, but it is what it is. I plan to tweak shapes and edges. After it I plan make an anime head so I will have a complete base model I can use to make different types of characters. So far this whole thing without head/hair/clothes would be 10k tris, which I think is pretty good.

The entire work of that game + undertale goes into each enemy's battle anyway, and it isn't a true RPG so they don't have hundreds of different enemies you can fight anyway. It makes more sense if you think about it like every enemy is a boss, since bosses tend to do irregular unexpected things.

I fixed the last major bugs, which means I can move forward without needing to go back to fix shit later. Basically I accidentally had a conversion from a string to a variable state randomly in the middle of some code. It's fixed now, I don't think the rest of the codebase for the mechanic will take as long as the first 1/3, most things I need to convert is already done in the first 70 functions. I don't see it becoming as annoying.

It's clear from their character drawings that they have very little understanding of anatomy. Which is made apparent by the need to trace.
Picrelated looks very stiff, and doesn't make sense at all if you understand the actual anatomy of the area. The fluidity, and sexual appeal fo the characters would be increased significantly with some gesture drawing, construction, and anatomy courses.
Not hating, it's just the reality of it. I'm not even saying that they need to draw realistic, far from it, but doing a simple anatomy course could improve their character art significantly.

I took the screenshot wrong, I should have included a little more of the picture (upwards) but another problem is how the ribcage interacts with the rectus abdominis.
During the timeline you corrected picrelated of the overlapping, but I think that you still failed to convey the correct interaction of the rectus abdominis and the obliques.
From what I can see, from the timeline, and I've gathered from your other drawings, you probably have a vague understanding of the underlying anatomy, but you still don't understand how the things interact properly, their proportions, and how to convey them, which is why I believe you would benefit greatly from some courses.
Don't know whether it's from the reference you use, or things you've gathered from drawing the figure so many time, but you kinda understand "X thing should be here", but you end up representing it wrong, in this case, and as I've continued to reference, how you ended up drawing the obliques and the ribcage ended making the character look bloated/pregnant, but likely more importantly, asymmetrical.
The breast, and their interaction with the figure, who has their arms up, also presents another issue, as they aren't following the correct path that they should. The pectoralis major ends up connecting to the arm/end of the shoulder, so when someone raises their arms the breasts move in a certain way. You kinda illustrated it in the farthest arm (from our POV), but failed completely to do so in the closest breast/arm, which makes her breasts look slapped on top of the figure/fake.

I'm not really an anime artist, but I'm also not a realistic artist, more of a stylized realism, however, all artists, no matter their style, greatly benefit from learning the basics of anatomy/figure/construction. The face probably being the area which anime artists benefit the least, but should still study it imo.

All those things might seem insignificant on their own, but when you add them all up it ends up giving a very stiff/unattractive figure. (Probably my last constructive criticism of the day, as I have to go do house stuff and work on my game)
